Games Workshop Rumor Engine: Cracked Screen Repairs Needed

Oh no! Someone has a cracked screen in this new Rumor Engine from Games Workshop. That’s never a fun thing to deal with.

We’re back with another Tuesday Rumor Engine. Today’s image reminds me of a fairly common occurrence in the real world. It’s not something good either even if it’s more nuisance and major trouble. Cracked screens happen and repairing them can be a pain. But let’s get to the image that you’re hopefully not looking at through a cracked phone screen…

So what are we looking at here? Well, first up someone has a pretty sweet triple monitor setup. Unfortunately, as you can see from the image and the title, one of those screen has been cracked. I don’t think it’s been dropped either. But that’s just a guess. Anyhow, who’s screens could those be?

Well, from the looks of it, I’m going to have to rule out the factions of the Mortal Realms. This ain’t an Age of Sigmar device! So that leaves the 40k side of the house. So is this Imperial or Xenos or Chaos? I’m going to have to lean towards Imperial or at least Imperial adjacent. It could be off some mining equipment for the Genestealer Cult or even the Leagues of Votann. That could explain why it’s cracked.

Aside from that, there’s very clearly the Imperial options. Astra Militarum, Adeptus Mechanicus, and of course all the power armored folks out there. That said, of those power armor wearing folks, few of them go into battle with broken equipment. So I don’t think it’s going to be Sisters, Marines, and certainly not Adeptus Custodes. That really just leaves the Militarum and Mechanicus.

I’m going to have to say between those two, I think the Mechanicus is more likely to have a cracked screen — although probably not for long. They can likely fix it quick, but I don’t think the Militarum would be allowed to have that many screens in a fight. They don’t strike me as the type to allow the folks who could three screens at once to be that close to the fighting if you catch my drift. Plus, who else would bring a triple monitor to setup besides the tech nerds of the grimdark?
