Helldivers are Super Earth’s ammunition in the fight to spread Managed Democracy. And Super Destroyers are the guns.
Super Destroyers are one of the most versatile tools in Super Earth’s vast arsenal. Each one is commanded by one of the magnificent Helldivers, those defenders of Managed Democracy. They are Super Earth’s greatest heroes. The Super Destroyers that is—they’re hard to replace, hard to kit out, but a single barrage from one of their orbital weapons can wipe out whole enemy bases. As long as the ship’s “commanding officer” can survive long enough to throw the targeting beacon at the right location.
Class 6 Series Crewed Interplanetary Combat Vessel “Super Destroyer”: Design and Capabilities
A big reason for the Super Destroyer’s power and overall invaluable service to the ideals of Super Earth is their versatility. They are capable of solving nearly any problem, making them one of the most indispensable tools in Sweet Liberty’s toolbox. And all of that is built into the core design of the ship.
Every Class 6 Series Crewed Interplanty Combat Vessel is designed from the outset to be improved. Though they are relatively small ships—coming in at 170 meters long and 80 meters wide, they are mighty. Each one comes standard with an ATLAS orbital cannon and a suite of defensive gatling cannons. Though these can be upgraded.
A Super Destroyer also sports 10 planetary navigational thrusters—these are powerful engines used for sublight travel within a star system’s local space. And of course, one of the biggest weapons—the Alcubierre Drive.
This singular starship drive allows a Super Destroyer to travel almost instantaneously to wherever its Helldiver directs it. Whether following Galactic Orders, or shoring up planetary defenses in planets under less prioritized sectors, an Alcubierre Drive allows for the tendrils of Super Earth to be ubiquitous.
But the other item in the Super Destroyer’s arsenal is its stores of ammunition. And we’re not talking about the explosives stored in the ammo bay, but rather the belt of untold cadets, held in cryostasis pods that wraps around the internal structure of the vessel. Each one contains a Helldiver who is given command of the Super Destroyer when they are thawed out. It’s usually because the previous commander of the ship has nobly sacrificed themselves in the name of Liberty, Managed Democracy, or both.
With a full loadout, a Super Destroyer can carry out hundreds of successful missions. The most successful ones only require four or five “rounds” of Helldiver ammunition. This does mean that the average Helldiver only “commands” their Super Destroyer for a few minutes at a time.
Layout of Liberty
Starting at the rear of the ship is the Hangar. Here is where the ship’s dedicated craft, the Pelican and Eagle are deployed. As the hangar bay is upgraded, more ordnance is stored within. Also in the rear of the vessel is the engine room. There’s also a robotics workshop and a Patriotic Administration Center.
The main deck of the ship is a long corridor. From here, Helldivers can manage their inventory and individual loadouts. They use the gear that previous Helldivers have unlocked via requisition orders or the occasional Super Credit expenditure. Here is also where Helldivers can upgrade the ship, increasing the number and accuracy of its orbital weapons. They can outf them with special ammunition, even adding orbital lasers.
Or they can upgrade the manufacturing capabilities, improving the craft’s ability to manufacture sentry turrets. This also applies to vehicles like the mighty mechs or the scout recon vehicle, which can be deployed on behalf of Super Earth.
At the fore of the ship is the bridge, where many ship’s officers can work once fully upgraded. They have targeting consoles, communications equipment, radar displays, and more at their disposal. This is also where Helldivers can view the Galaxy Map. This allows the Helldiver to see where the enemies of Liberty wage their terrible campaigns.
Through their orbital support and delivery of Helldivers to battlefields across the galactic fronts, Super Destroyers help to keep Super Earth safe for all citizens!
Just don’t stare too long at every ship’s mandatory Democracy Officer, who is only there to make sure Super Earth Command’s orders are followed and democracy served at every turn!
