Wizards of the Coast revealed their Magic: The Gathering release lineup for 2026 at the preview panel at MagicCon: Atlanta 2025.

To wrap up 2025, WotC announced that there will be a special holiday run of Scene Boxes, a Chocobo Bundle, and more for Final Fantasy. This is similar to what they did with the Tales of Middle-Earth holiday release in 2023 (see “Holiday Release Product Deets Revealed“). The Final Fantasy run will head to retail on December 5, 2025.

The year starts with the release of Lorwyn Eclipsed, which features a return to the planes of Lorwyn and Shadowmoor after 15 years (see “2026 ‘Magic: The Gathering’ Sets“). This set is already on preorder and hits stores on January 23, 2026 (see “‘Magic: The Gathering’ ‘Lorwyn Eclipsed’“).

The March set will be a Universes Beyond set. It remains, thus far, unnamed, and will be announced at NYCC 2025 on October 10, 2025. However, it will more than likely have to do something with Nickelodeon IPs (see “‘Nickelodeon x Magic: The Gathering’ Panel“).

In April 2026, WotC will revisit the mage school of Strixhaven (see “‘Strixhaven: School of Mages’“). The Secrets of Strixhaven was also previously announced at MagicCon: Las Vegas (see “Announces Two ‘Magic: The Gathering’ Sets “).

The second big Universes Beyond set, coming in June 2026, will be Marvel Super Heroes. This set will be the follow up to Marvel’s Spider-Man that just released today (see “Product Line Deets Revealed“), and it will include an array of heroes and villains from the Marvel Universe.

The third Universes Beyond set announced was The Hobbit. WotC and Magic: The Gathering will make a return to Middle-Earth in August 2026 by releasing a set that focuses on the journey of Bilbo Baggins.

The October 2026 is named Reality Fracture, and it is an in-universe set. More details on this will be released in the future.

Last, but not least, WotC will be boldly going where no Magic set has gone before. WotC has apparently licensed Star Trek for their fourth Universes Beyond set of 2026 (coming in November). Captain Kirk, the Enterprise ship, and plenty of Klingons will all make appearances in this set.
