Games Workshop is bringing on the Space Wolves and T’au in a new Kill Team Boxed Set. Get ready for Kill Team: Dead Silence.

In a followup to Tomb World, once again the Kill Teams are travelling down into the Necron’s slumbering halls. Searching for technology the T’au are sending in the Stealth Suits in an effort to keep this mission on the downlow. However, the Space Wolves have spotted them and are aware of their motives. The Wolf Scouts are in hot pursuit but the battle ground is a deadly one. You could even say this battle is taking place in …Dead Silence.

“You spin up the burst cannons, engage the stealth fields, and get ready for the quietest deathmatch of your life in Kill Team: Dead Silence, a new expansion set that builds on the Tomb World killzone with more teams, more hazards, and a new narrative campaign playable both competitively and co-operatively.”

Cheesy wordplay aside, let’s take a look at what’s coming in the next boxed set for Kill Team!

T’au XV26 Stealth Battlesuit Kill Team

“Equipped with bleeding-edge XV26 battlesuits, these maverick pilots are an anomaly in the otherwise strict and codified Fire caste, given free rein to employ unorthodox tactics and questionable methods so long as they serve the Greater Good. Each one is a veteran of many wars, equipped with one of the smallest battlesuits in the T’au Empire armoury – a technological marvel that can render itself almost completely invisible despite being powerful enough to carry serious firepower into battle.”

This is the first full Kill Team of T’au Stealth Battlesuits (plus two drones). Honestly, I’m a little surprised it’s taken this long for them to show up. Stealth suits seem like a natural fit for the battles of Kill Team. Their combination of firepower, speed, technology, and stealth will work in their favor in the clandestine opertions of Kill Team.

Perhaps more importantly for 40k fans, these are some really cool sculpts! I don’t any T’au players are going to complain about more cool, new Stealth Suit minis to add to their collections.

Wolf Scouts – Space Wolves Kill Team

“Unlike other Space Marine Chapters, the Space Wolves do not use their scouting forces to train novitiates, but rather put the talents of their more taciturn veterans to good use hunting dangerous foes and stalking through dense terrain. Wolf Scouts are loners and vicious killers who stand apart from their more gregarious brothers, who regard them highly as being marked by Lokyar, the Great Lone Wolf of Fenrisian legend.”

The Space Wolves are sending in their veterans for this mission with the Wolf Scouts. Packing Phobos-pattern armor they are ready to hunt their prey fast and efficiently. Once they’ve got the scent of the T’au, it’s just a matter of time…

I also like the designs of these miniatures as well. If you’re looking to add some style to your Space Wolves (particularly ones in Phobos-pattern armor) then this looks like a great pick-up. This looks like a pretty deadly Kill Team and it could be a neat pairing with them in the box vs T’au. I’m curious to see how this story unfolds and we’ll learn more about that in the new Kill Team: Dead Silence Dossier book.

Dead Silence Dossier

This campaign offers another new Hex-map style crawl. The Ctesiphus Expeditions will take your Kill Teams from the surface down into the depths of the Necron Tomb World. This one sounds a lot like a treasure hunt but with, ya know, Necrons and the other Kill Teams to face off against.

I’m also curious to see how this one leads into the teased Co-op campaign that culminates in the arrival of the Nightbringer. That’s going to be pretty epic!

Kill Team: Dead Silence is going up for Pre-order soon. Keep your senses alert for this one!
