Get ready for a big dose of the Spider-Verse as we dive into the new character pack coming to Marvel: Crisis Protocol!
When this set was first revealed I was pretty pumped. Spider-Man 2099 and Ultimate Spider-Man along with Prowler in one box? This feels straight out of the movie and I’m here for that. So now that Atomic Mass Games sent us a copy, I had to get in there and build these miniatures. So let’s see what they are all about.
I remember when Spider-Man 2099 was introduced, same with Ultimate Spider-Man…anyone else feeling old?
Unboxing Prowler, Spider-Man 2099, & Ultimate Spider-Man
Kicking things off, we’ve got the contents of the character pack. Because this is from AMG, we’ve got the cards in one baggy and the sprues/bases in the other. No surprises there.
As far as the cards go, they come in the three supported languages that are pretty standard as well at this point. If you’re looking for more of a deep dive on the character’s stats and team tactic cards, I covered that, too. That article has much better images of the cards and their rules so don’t strain your eyes trying to read this — just go view them directly.
As far as the sprues are concerned the characters come in two sets along with the four-set of small bases. I learned a few things when assembling these miniatures so let’s just get down to those next!
The Miniatures Up Close
Before I get into them individually, I really want to point out how good they all look. I really like how 2099 came out. And I think Ultimate Spider-Man rearing back with his Venom Blast is really cool. That said, these builds did have a few tricky parts to them.
Prowler
As far as the Prowler goes, this was by far the easiest to build from the batch. This time around his cape is actually the anchor point on the base. But AMG made a smart move by making it a separate piece that connects at the top, sort of near the top of the shoulders. This makes the build really easy as you assemble the body and legs, glue them in place to the cape, and then attach the arms. The head is a separate bit that slots in nicely, too. I like the leaping/pouncing pose as well, it’s kind of spooky.
Spider-Man 2099
Miguel O’Hara, aka Spider-Man 2099, wasn’t too bad overall. His feet do have slots on the Alchemax pillar he’s standing on so that makes gluing them in easy. The tricky parts for me were the right arm which wanted to fall out and I had to find the correct angle for it. And then the right hand, which is a separate bit from the arm. I hand to figure out how to place the hand in gingerly but I got it to work.

One other cool facet of this miniature is that it comes with two different head options — one with the mask and one without. So it just depends on how you’re feeling for this build. I opted for the mask-on look.
Ultimate Spider-Man
I really liked this pose for Miles as it shows him with a lot more mastery over his abilities. The flying leap with the Venom Blast ready to KO a baddy is cool. That said, this miniature was a bit of a pain to get set right…until I had an epiphany.
I was trying to glue down his lightning bits to the base and then attach the rest of the model to the lightning. Don’t do that. Assemble the miniature’s body and the leg that attached to the lightning effect. Then, take the extra lightning bit and glue that to the miniature. You’ll end up with a much better connection for all the joints that way.
Once that sets, you can easily attach it to the base and you should be able to make any adjustments to make them fit flush at the three touch points on the base. Please learn from my mistakes and make it easier on yourself.
Prowler, Spider-Man 2099, & Ultimate Spider-Man Pre-Order Now
The Prowler, Spider-Man 2099, & Ultimate Spider-Man Character Pack is currently up for pre-order and has a release date of October 24, 2025.
Marvel: Crisis Protocol – Prowler, Spider-Man 2099 & Ultimate Spider-Man $54.99
Aaron Davis never shook his criminal past and donned a mask to become The Prowler. While his allegiances are unclear, his combat prowess in close quarters is certain. Miguel O’Hara, the time-traveling Spider-Man 2099, leverages superior tech and abilities to dominate anyone that crosses his path. With years of crime fighting in his webs, Miles Morales swings through New York as Ultimate Spider-Man, becoming a powerful leader in the Web Warriors.
This is a really great set and I’m glad to have them all built up. Now if I can just get a solid block of painting time planned out to tackle the projects that are piling up…
