Next week sees the pre-order release of a number of Astartes captains, including one for the Iron Hands, the White Scars, and an Ultramarine.
Oh captain my captain, my captain. Or something like that. Next week’s pre-orders are chock full of three new captains: the Iron Hands’ Caanok Var, who is perhaps more augmetic than man at this point; the White Scars’ Suboden Khan in an incredible new mini; and you know, just a regular guy – a plain ol’ Space Marine Captain with Jump Pack and Relic Shield. Plus a bunch of new combat patrol boxes! All this, next week!
Captains and Combat Patrols
It all kicks off with Caanok Var, the Iron Captain of Clan Avernii. They say that his single eye is the last original part of him, the rest, nothing but masterwork augmetics. How true that is remains to be seen. But in his terminator armor, and with the power maul Axiom in his hands, he is a deadly warrior, with mechanical precision.
Accompanying Var is a new Iron Hands Combat Patrol box. This is a great way to jumpstart your own Iron Hands collection, since the box comes with 10 Heavy Intercessors, two Firestrike servo-turrets, and a Techmarine.
The Iron Hands aren’t the only ones with new Captains. The White Scars also get both a new captain and combat patrol, though they are bundle together. And in fact, this combat patrol box is the only way you can get your hands on the new Suboden Khan, who leads the Combat Patrol with his power lance, Stormtooth. Also in the box are Five Assault Intercessors, an Impulsor transport, and three Outriders.
Rounding out the trio of Captains, is a Captain with Jump Pack and Relic Shield. He comes with either a Thunder Hammer or Chainsword in the right hand.
Finally, there’s the Harlequin Combat Patrol. They aren’t led by the new Captain, though. Instead, they travel with six Players of a Harlequin Troupe, a Starweaver transport craft, two Skyweaver jetbikes, a Voidweaver, and a Solitaire.
