The Pathfinder Quest Adventure Board Game enters its final week on BackerKit with scores of upgrades thanks to its almost $700K raised.
The people want Pathfinder. Specifically, they want an adventure board game that also serves as a vehicle for getting tons of Pathfinder-specific miniatures, because that’s far and away one of the biggest draws for Pathfinder Quest and its phenomenal success right now. With 1 week left, backers have already unlocked the most exciting stretch goals, which in this case is a whole lot of minis. Minis for heroes, minis for monsters.
I’m excited to see how the game actually plays – because it’s a cooperative board game that uses Pathfinder to take you through something like a dozen different adventures as you go on a quest to save the town of Falcon’s Hollow.
Pathfinder Quest: Adventure In A Box
But what is a “cooperative adventure board game” anyway? How does that translate? If you know games like Gloomhaven or HeroQuest, you’re probably familiar with the concept. These are games that straddle the line between board game and RPG. You’ll find a fair share of RPG elements as you go on a campaign of 12 different adventures threaded together with a rich narrative as you try to save the town of Falcon’s Hollow.
But you’ll also find plenty of board game elements. Because, unlike Pathfinder, the ttrpg, there’s no GM required here. Minimal prep required (just get the stuff out of the box) means you can get right to it. All you need is the box. You don’t even need friends, because you can play solo.
Though you’ll probably want some friends. Because there’s quite a bit going on here. Especially since the game has expanded thanks to the phenomenal success of the BackerKit campaign. Unlocked goals have even added a board game organizer and some new classes.
“Dead things prowl the woods around the town of Falcon’s Hollow. No longer content to rest in their graves, they stalk the living, hungry for their flesh. Worse still, the nearby volcano of Droskar’s Crag has begun to spew plumes of black smoke, threatening to cover all Darkmoon Vale in a cloud of burning ash!
The people of Falcon’s Hollow turn to you to save them! Yur four adventurers are all that stand between the small lumber town and total destruction. Do you have what it takes to track the undead to their source and defeat this dire evil before it’s too late?”

As far as what you get in the box? A lot, it turns out. There are two versions at play here. The Standard and the BackerKit exclusive Deluxe edition. And that’s the one you really want. The Standard edition comes with a bunch of cards and tokens and paper standee pawns.
The Deluxe edition, on the other hand, is full of actual miniatures. And that’s before you make any miniature add-on purchases, including some huge miniatures that are great in the game or in your game of Pathfinder the RPG. You also get special custom quest dice, a time tracker dial, and more. You’ve got a week left, so back while you can!
Look for Pathfinder Quest in 2026!
