Games Workshop has released more Faction Pack updates today. Time to download the latest Pack to see what’s updated for your army.

Earlier this month, Games Workshop consolidated their army rules into Faction Packs. This was a good thing as it made it pretty easy to find the relevant updates for your army. The only things that were separate were points (which are still in the Munitorum Field Manual) and the Combat Patrols which are kind of their own thing. Oh and Core Rules/Codex Rules obviously.

Today, there’s a new round of updates to the Faction Packs. The big ones are for the Space Marines and the Drukhari who have both gotten new Detachments. However, it appears that GW has updated a bunch of them today also:

Here’s where things get a little confusing for me. I’ve been checking on these updates and, while many of them are actual updates, some of them appear to just be re-uploads. How can you tell? Check the box:

In each Faction Pack, there’s a handy “What’s New?” box at the top of the pack. This outlines, well, what’s new in the update. What’s strange is many of them are still “first iteration” versions. And yet they appear to be “new” updates according to the dates (October 22, 2025) listed above. It’s really not that big of a deal but it was worth noting.

The point is that if you’re army has an “updated” Faction Pack from above you should still check it. You might have gotten a slight tweak in FAQ/Errata form.

Space Marine Updates

The bigger news here is for the Space Marines. They’ve gotten a pair of new Detachments to try as well as two new characters added to their roster.

Unsurprisingly, those are related to the Iron Hands and White Scars as they just got those new characters added. Those characters open up new options in terms of Detachments (and Combat Patrol rules which are separate).

Iron Hands players will have access to the new Hammer of Avernii Detachment.

This one has a heavy focus on running Caanok Var and using his Recalculating ability to refocus on which enemy units need to go away. It’s also got a bit of model recursion the Steel Font enhancement which can return a bodyguard model to a unit the character with the enhancement is leading.

For the White Scars, they are bringing on the Spearpoint Task Force. You’ll really want to run it with Suboden Khan to maximize the effect. It’s got a slew of enhancements and stratagems that lean heavy on the speed and aggression the White Scars bring to the tabletop.

Again, I recommend if you see your army’s Faction Pack above, go check it out. Some of them are may just be re-uploads and but there could still be changes you might not be aware of in them. Happy Gaming!
