Hasbro will release a new version of Monopoly Deal tied to Netflix hit KPop Demon Hunters, and plans further collaborations with Netflix for the brand, which will include Hasbro division Wizards of the Coast, the company announced. The most likely Wizards of the Coast interaction with the property seems to be  a KPop Demon Hunters drop for Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair, although none has been announced.

The Netflix announcement said that Walmart, Target, and Amazon would begin taking preorders for Monopoly Deal: KPop Demon Hunters this week for release January 1, but both Amazon and Target are promising shipment in mid-December:  Amazon on December 16 and Target on December 15.

Hasbro and Netflix announced release of the new Monopoly Deal version to “most major retailers” for January 1, which presumably includes hobby trade.

The game is for 2 to 5 players ages 8 and up, plays in about 15 minutes, and will carry a $12.99 MSRP.  Players will collect item cards to help HUNTR/X stage their big concert; action cards will take them viral, take on the spicy challenge, or deploy Bobby to watch for trouble.  The first player to complete three items sets wins.

The KPop Demon Hunters feature is the most popular movie in Netflix history, holding in the streamer’s top 10 for 15 straight weeks, according to Variety.  A theatrical release of a sing-along version pulled $18 million domestic over a limited two-day release in a relatively small number of theaters, according to Box Office Mojo, and a second theatrical release of the version is planned for three days in November.
