Wizards of the Coast announced a Magic Limited Championship, which will take place in 2027.
This event series focuses specifically on the Limited format (sealed and booster draft), and is supported by a $500,000 prize pool. The payout will be similar to the Pro Tour structure, and the top 8 players from the Limited Championship will get invitations to the Magic World Championship. Players can qualify for the Limited Championship by participating in Limited Championship Qualifiers or LTQs.
These events will be held at MagicCons, on MTG Arena, Spotlight Series events, and Regional Championship events; Pro Tour players and Hall of Fame players can also qualify for this via Pro Tour results and yearly invites.
