It’s be a bit since Games Workshop had a preview. It turns out they were waiting until the World Champs of Warhammer to run it.

“We’re coming up to the end of the year, and so the World Championships of Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 Grand Narrative are rapidly approaching. People from all over the world will be descending on Atlanta, USA for a weekend of immersive Warhammer gaming. Even if you are not one of them, there are reasons to be excited – we can smell a preview in the air…”

Incoming Warhammer Preview – World Champs Edition

Finally! I’m hoping we get a lot of updates on the state of things. Obviously GW has a slew of things they want to hype up. And we’ve got the list below.

The Previews will include:

  • Warhammer Quest: Darkwater
  • Warhammer 40,000
  • Warhammer: Age of Sigmar
  • Warhamer: The Horus Heresy
  • Legions Imperialis
  • Warhammer: The Old World
  • Necromunda

That’s a pretty spicy list of things to cover. I know that Warhammer Quest: Darkwater is going to be a big focus, but I’m very curious about the two “main” systems. Warhammer 40k in particular is in a funky spot. We’ve got all the codexes out. While I’ve theorized on what’s coming next, I’m looking forward to conformation from GW. We haven’t had a real road map from them since April 2025!

The same could be said for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar. Although that system has quite a bit more runway before the end of an edition. So I’m okay with waiting a bit more for that. Still, I’m also curious about those future plans now that GW already announced the Holiday Battleforces for both systems.

I’ll probably talk about what I’m hoping to see from GW in the future for those two systems. That said, I’m also wondering what’s up with the other games mentioned. In particular I’m wondering what’s going to happen with Necromunda. Hive Secundus was a pretty epic expansion and we’ve still got the whole planetary rebellion subplot as well.

As for the Horus Heresy-era games there’s still loads to explore. Will we finally see the Dark Mechanicum show up beyond Legions Imperialis? Realistically, I’m not sure what else GW can grow from for that setting. They just put out rules for Black Shields and the Shattered Legions rules.

I guess we’re going to have to tune in to find out. So get ready for the reveals on November 7th/8th (depending on your time zone). We’ll see you in the chat!
