Wizards of the Coast announced that manufacturing delays will impact the arrival of some Magic: The Gathering – Secret Lair drop set releases.
A raw material used in the production process had inconsistencies, which although they did not affect product quality or safety caused delays while a replacement component was sourced, WotC said in a statement explaining the delays. WotC offered fans options to deal with their delayed items: sit tight, modify their order, or cancel their order. [Note: this paragraph corrected from previous statement that the inconsistencies did affect product quality or safety, apologies. ed.]
Manufacturing delays have been more or less par for the course in 2025 primarily associated with tariffs (see “Erratic Tariff Policy“), although there was no indication that this delay was related to the tariff issue.
