This forest is haunted. Or maybe just really angry. Or both. But at least you can get your pre-orders in today for these Epic Encounters!
Well now we have a release date for the two new Epic Encounter sets that are set in one creepy forest. The Forest of the Damned and the Glade of the Evil Oak are both up for pre-order now and have a release date of February 20, 2026!
The Forest Is Haunted
As I mentioned previously, these two sets are linked but can be used independently. Like all the Epic Encounter sets, these are perfect for the GM on the go. If you just need some ideas for your next game or if you just want some awesome miniatures to throw at your party you can’t go wrong with these sets!
That said, these sets are particularly spooky. Why? Because they are the first sets to have a guest writer on board. That write is Jason Charles Miller.
He’s be a contributor to Dungeons & Dragons and Critical Role — with many more credits as well. So to say he knows his way around 5e is putting it lightly. I’m looking forward to this set of adventure booklets for sure. While the miniatures are typically the star of the show, those adventure booklets are a real lifeline for GMs.
The previous sets all have plot hooks, encounter tips, and just general “how to use these in YOUR campaign” tips. It’s all the stuff a busy GM typically has to come up with on their own. That’s why I’m interested to see what sort of a spin Jason Charles Miller can put into this set.
Epic Encounters of the Treekin Kind
But enough of me rambling. I know what you really want to see. Links to pre-order these two sets!
Epic Encounters: Forest of the Damned $54.99 (Pre-Order)
Something moves in the darkness between the trees. You’re not alone in this cursed forest. Branches creek, rough bark scrapes and roots writhe just out of sight. Will these wretched creatures find you ready?
Spend a short while in this forest and your gut will warn you even where your good sense fails. A sense of unspeakable wrongness hangs thick as the canopy overhead, trailing tendrils that tug ancestral memories from your bones. The twigs snapping beneath your feet are not twigs. And the prickling at the back of your neck is not from the cold.
In an Epic Encounters first, Forest of the Damned was created by guest writer, Jason Charles Miller.
Run this set as a thrilling standalone encounter, as part of an existing roleplaying campaign, or combine with the paired boss encounter, Glade of the Evil Oak, for a mini campaign that’ll have your players rooted to their seats!

Can you cut down this twisted terror, or will you end up as fertiliser? Deep in the heart of this corrupted forest, the Evil Oak awaits you in the gloom. Will you be ready?
Deep in the heart of the forest, there is a glade with a solitary tree at its centre. You may picture a sunny scene laced with birdsong. But this is no sunlight dappled clearing, and the tree no mere sapling.
It is a twisted oak of monstrous proportions. A gnarled hand thrust from the earth, claw-like branches grasping as if to tear down the sky. A tree so corrupted by forces beyond mortal understanding, few who lay eyes on it live to tell the tale. Yet, rumours persist, shaken from shivering leaves and carried on a gloomy breeze to prickle at the skin of storytellers hunched around fires — weaving tales of wicked oak that stands sentinel over the abyss, and the souls brave enough to cleave it limb from limb…
Weave tales of wicked oak in this epic tabletop roleplaying adventure for D&D 5e.
In an Epic Encounters first, Glade of the Evil Oak was created by guest writer, Jason Charles Miller.
Coming in February 2026!
