Pathfinder’s biggest conflict – the Hellfire Crisis – heats up to a frothing boil in the newly revealed Hellfire Dispatches.
Pathfinder’s Hellfire Crisis is one of the biggest wars to ever hit Golarion. As the beef between the infernal decadence of Cheliax and the eagle-and-freedom vibes of Andoran heats up into all out war, it seems that the whole world is drawn into the Hellfire Crisis. And in the newly revealed Pathfinder Lost Omens: Hellfire Dispatches, we’ll get a look at what’s happening on the frontlines as things heat up.
Which is a great excuse to introduce new character archetypes, new skirmishing troops, and all sorts of adventure hooks to play with, whether you’re digging into the new Adventure Path, the upcoming season of Pathfinder Society, or just making your own campaign with war at its heart. Let’s take a look.
Pathfinder Lost Omens: Hellfire Dispatches
This is a comprehensive sourcebook that will take you deep inside the timeline of the war. Not just in the beleaguered border of Cheliax and Andoran, but throughout the Lost Omens campaign setting. Whether that’s the Arch of Aroden, or Absalom, or the shadow-haunted streets of Nidal.
As you might imagine, there’s a big gazetteer to draw from here. If you want to be caught up on all the latest lore and the ongoing metaplot of the season, this book has you covered. You’ll find prominent NPCs, new plot hooks, and secrets to uncover.
Meanwhile players might enjoy the ten new archetypes introduced in the book. You could be one of three new flavors of Eagle Knight. Or delve into the Hellknights of Cheliax. Or even just finally do the thing that everyone thinks about in Golarion, become a Starstone aspirant, and see if you can’t ascend to godhood in Absalom somewhere, just like Cayden Cailean did.
“A single spark has ignited the dry tinder of decades-long saber-rattling into the full-fledged inferno of the Hellfire Crisis, embroiling an entire region into the war between infernal Cheliax and its former holding of Andoran. Dispatches from each front reveal the past and present of the war, along with how the right group of heroes might shape the future of the conflict. From the front line to back-room intrigue and from grim reality to fantastical struggles, these dispatches cover the full range of the Hellfire Crisis.”
I think the timing is perfect here. Pathfinder: Battlecry! is a book that has been in need of something to show how it’s done. After all, what’s the point of digging into how to run a war-themed campaign in Golarion if you don’t actually have one for folks to take a look at and/or play through.
But with the upcoming Hellbreakers Adventure Path and now Hellfire Dispatches, it seems like mass combat and political intrigue enjoyers alike will be feasting in the not too distant future.
Look for Pathfinder Lost Omens: Hellfire Dispatches in April of 2026!
