Grotmas has gifts for everyone including the Heroes of Warhammer Quest: Darkwater. New rules let you take the characters to the tabletop!

Or maybe I should say the “battlefield” as these new rules are for using them in Age of Sigmar. In either case you’ll be able to take the miniatures from Darkwater and add them to your armies with these new rules.

“The whole gang are collected together as the Heroes of the Jade Abbey Regiment of Renown for the forces of Order, which increases in points depending on the heroes you add to your questing party. You can take just one hero, or any combo you want, up to using all seven in one hefty regiment. All of their unique equipment and abilities are translated into Warhammer Age of Sigmar abilities, and while they stay together they get extra melee attacks.”

Now, there’s one major caveat here: These are Legends Warscrolls. While they are official, if you plan on using these for Matched Play or a Tournament, you’ll want to check with your opponent or the Tournament Organizer first. That said they do have points as well as a full on Regiment of Renown. If you’ve got the miniatures I’d say go for it… But that’s just me.

Also, if you take all 7 characters the Regiment clocks in at 880 points. That’s quite the investment. Then again, they each have unique gear/abilities that have been translated from Darkwater into Age of Sigmar rules. There could be some pretty potent combos in there. Considering this Regiment is basically a bunch of character heroes running around that get a bonus to their attacks AND can heal (1) every turn…yeah, okay, maybe that could be an issue.

Honestly, these character just have some funky rules in general! Edmark, the Manitcore Knight, gets to reflect damage back on to his attack when he rolls an unmodified 1 for a save. Bren Tylis can just setup more than 3″ away from all enemy units during the Deployment Phase.

Inara has a Spell that can prevent enemies from moving closer to her while Drolf can basically just teleport around terrain. The other three characters also have cool abilities, too. Now I TOTALLY get why these are Legends Warscrolls. I think they could be fun but also very disruptive. I honestly don’t know if they are worth their points. However, I also think cunning players could cherry pick a couple of these characters and really abuse the heck out of their abilities. Again, I’m not opposed to trying them out for fun. But I’d make sure my opponent knows what they can do first.
