It’s the final Battlescroll Update for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar in 2025. Get ready for the shifting meta as we enter 2026!
Games Workshop has released the new Battlescroll Update for Warhammer: Age of Sigmar today and it’s got some subtle changes. If you’re planning on starting a new army based on the current status of the game then you should be good to go. This update mostly focused on points adjustments but some outliers did get corrected. So let’s get into it.
“Overall the meta is in a relatively healthy place, with many factions performing well at events around the world. Furthermore, given the Ghyran focussed season rules in General’s Handbook 2025-26, along with new options introduced in the Scourge of Ghyran update, the Warhammer Studio have opted for a lighter touch on the Battlescroll to keep the rate of change more manageable for players.”
Age of Sigmar Battlescroll Update
Games Workshop opted for a fairly light touch this time around. There are some minor rules updates but it’s really targeted. Additionally, a lot of the balance came in the form of point updates for many units. We’re basically halfway through this General’s Handbook Season so things feel relatively stable. With a bit of a clamp down on the outliers this Battlescroll update really isn’t looking to rock the boat before the new year kicks off and folks start new armies.
So what’s actually changing? Well, we can hit some of the highlights. One of the bigger changes was how Warmachines and Monsters were able to hide in plain sight thanks to how Obscuring Terrain was working. That’s been changed:
According to GW, the biggest change was to how the Blades of Khorne’s Blood-Drenched ability worked. Now, when you use a Blood Tithe ability you also get to apply a buff to a unit as a reaction.
Again, there’s other changes and I encourage you to check out the full Battlescroll update here. Things are labeled with the “new” tag for easy of reference. Additionally, you might want to double check the errata and FAQ sections as well. There’s quite a few helpful clarifications and rulings that have been made.
Finally, check to see if your army’s faction pack got update here. And don’t forget to download the latest Battle Profiles for the updated points which you can find here. Good luck and happy gaming!
It’s a light touch…but check those points!
