The Sons of Caliban are marching to war. This time in the digital realm. It’s our first look at the Dark Angel in Dawn of War IV!

If you were wondering how Dawn of War was going to update the Space Marines and introduce a bunch of new units for them, well, now we know. The Dark Angels are bringing the Primaris Marines to battle!

From the video description:

“The secretive Dark Angels descend during the Blood Ravens’ hour of need, bringing their ruthless precision and relentless discipline to the battlefields of Kronus. Two Space Marine Chapters crash into battle, to purge the Xenos threat. Witness their debut in this first official look at the Dark Angels sub-faction in-game in Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War IV.”

Dark Angels In Dawn of War IV

Not only are we getting an official campaign with the Dark Angels as part of the main game we can see both new Necron and Dark Angel units in battle!

The Primaris Marines are in full force in Dawn of War IV. From the looks of things we’re getting a mix of Primaris units. We’ve the Invictors blasting away above along with Deathwing Terminators and Intercessors.

Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs are also showcased in the trailer, too. I almost feel for the Necron Skorpekh Destroyers…almost.

The above image makes it a little hard to tell but it seems like we’ve got quite a few Primaris Squads unloading on a Canoptek Doomstalker. There’s also a Redemptor Dreadnought going to work on some Necrons, too.

In this one we’ve got a couple Repulsor Executioners unloading on the Necrons. I’m betting we might have a couple variants of them floating around the battlefield in the game. I wouldn’t be shocked if we also get Gladiators, regular Repulsors and Impulsors in the game as well.

The Dark Angels Are Marching To (Dawn of) War!

Now, normally I’d make a crack about them “being Chaos Marines” and wonder how they got the newer Primaris Marine tech. But the last couple of times a few readers got confused in the comments and didn’t understand that it was a joke. And if you’ve got to explain the joke (even if it’s been a long running gag) then what’s the point? So I’m just going to play this one straight and not make fun of these “traitors.”

The point is they DO look pretty cool and I’m looking forward to seeing them “in action” in Dawn of War IV. I’m hoping the story that we’ll be following in the campaign ends up being a good one. It’s going to be interesting to see how the Blood Ravens and Dark Angels interact. Both of those Chapters have their own secrets they’d like to keep to themselves…
