Angron lives up to his name with a gorgeous new mini, up for pre-order at last. And facing Angron Transfigured, the new (old) Skitarii.
You know it works out pretty well for the folks in 40K that they were named the way they were. Take Angron, for instance. His transformation into a daemon prince of Khorne wouldn’t quite have the same effect if his name had been Rogal Dorn, for instance. Angron being the angry guy, Sanguinius being the Primarch of the Blood Angels – it worked out so well for the overall vibe. Could you imagine an alternate universe where Sanguinius would have to keep explaining, “yes, I know, but I’m not actually associated with the Blood Angels, my Chapter are the Imperial Fists. My space dad just really liked the name.”
Fortunately, Angron turned out to be the angriest guy. And you can see the whole vibe he brings to the table in the form of Angron Transfigured, which is available for pre-order next week, alongside a whole new batch of Heresy-era Skitarii.
Angron, Skitarii, And Friends

I mean, even the miniature looks angry. He’s so gaunt with rage. Nothing but muscle and spite and room for spikes is on this frame – even his wings look wiry and wrathful. This is Angron as he was during the Siege of Terra, with daemonic power flowing through his veins (you can see most of them). You can find his rules in the Liber Hereticus.

There’s also Lotara Sarrin, Mistress of the Conqueror. She is, somehow, just a normal human who is captain of Angron’s flagship. On the battlefield she brings discipline, a formidable will, and most importantly, the ability to call down a powerful array of orbital strikes from Angron’s flagship, the Conqueror.

In the unenviable position of having to face off against Angron, are a new batch of Skitarii, who are actually an old batch of Skitarii because these too, are Horus Heresy-era troops. There’s a new book, The Steel Hand of Mars, which goes into all things Skitarii. In this 48-page Journal Tactica, you’ll find the full rules for the units in the Skitarii Battle Group box as well as Relic Hunt Missions, a new Legendary Mission, and more.

Speaking of the Skitarii Battlegroup Box, that is also up for pre-order next week. In it you will find the Skitarii of the Horus Heresy. These are the personal troops of the Fabricator General and are dedicated to acquiring technological relics by hook and/or crook from across the galaxy.
In this box, specifically, you’ll find 16 Skitarii Battle-Pilgryms led by a Battle-Pilgrym Marshal as well as the horrifying Vultarax Stratos-automata, just about the last thing you want to see floating towards you when you get a game-over cutscene.
All this, next week!
