Goatboy here and as I sit on the ledge of moving onto a new army. I have played my World Eaters for a long time lately and feel like I should move onto something else. I will most likely do Emperor’s Children as I just finished painting it but I always have a weird soft space in my heart for something easy to quickly build and paint. I have done a few Custodes armies (usually built, played, and then someone buys parts of it) so doing another one isn’t too hard to think about. Heck I even have collected more female heads to at least test out the idea. Let’s see what a true Golden Horde could be as GW continued to bring Guardian bricks down in cost.
There has to be a break point in a unit that sits with 3-4 wound models in groups of 4-5 and cost way too little. There has to be something good when you can take so many of them that throwing a way a unit of golden girls isn’t that much of an issue for the army. They still can hit hard, move fairly fast, and just sometimes you make 4+ saves for days.
Take a 4-model unit of Custodian Guard. They are currently 150 points which is pretty cheap for 12 wounds of 4+ Inv save, Toughness 6, and 5 damage 2 attacks. This would be a crime in any other book but in the current Custodes environment this is looked at as barely playable for the army. Or was barely playable as I think taking 6 units of these Jerks might be good.
Putting the Muscle Mommies Army Together
Let’s Start with 6 units of 4. This gives us the need for 4 boxes or going for 5 with enough parts to make heroes if want to join them with them. We’ll wait till the end to see if it is worth it.

This leaves us a ton of room for other fun things. I think even more bodies just bodes well for the army. I think Wardens are also pretty well priced at 210 points for 4 models that can get a turn of Feel No Pain plus really loves throwing down with a Blade Champion. Let’s build 3 units of those with 3 Blade Champions to create a good “go bother” people set of units.

Right now we are sitting at 1650 points for 39 bodies. This is a ton of tough models that might not always be super killing but can easily flood the table with units that are just issues to deal with. We now have 350 points to think about what else we could add. I think we could go with a small bike squad and a Character to lead them. It is a decent amount of points and gives us a little quick bully unit as needed.

Right now that leaves 50 points which I think we can utilize some Enhancements for. I think will go Shield Host as having some ability to go with lethal hits seems good. Let’s put it all together.

Adeptus Custodes Muscle Mommies Tactics
This is a pretty simple horde list that tries to cover the table in Golden Ladies ready to do work for the Emperor. I know there are other fun combos utilizing the Inquisitor options but figure all gold all the time is the way to go. Plus this shouldn’t be a crazy list to put together if you utilize some of the combat patrols you can find.
