Well now we know what those Iron Warrior Teasers were all about. There’s a new Warsmith on the way and more for Warhammer 40,000.
That really didn’t take long. The New Year Preview showed off some Iron Warriors Teasers. I had a few suspicions on what exactly we were getting, too. While we don’t have a Perturabo (yet) we do have a couple confirmations at least. There’s a new Warsmith coming as well as an upgrade kit to convert your Chaos Space Marine Legionaries into Iron Warriors! Let’s get into it.
Long years of fighting in the deadliest frontal assaults imaginable has turned Kravek’s body into a siege weapon as powerful as any tank or daemon engine in his arsenal, built around an ancient suit of Cataphractii Terminator armour from the Horus Heresy that he calls his Iron Mantle. It bristles with weaponised mechatendrils and augmetics slaved to the armour’s mind impulse unit, though none are as deadly as Last Argument – his personally-crafted thunder hammer that crackles with infernal power.
Warsmith Kravek Morne
I like that this miniature is a nod back to the Cataphractii Terminators while still getting a nice jolt of chaos goodies. Warsmith Kravek really reminds me of Doc Ock though with those extra augmented servo-limbs. Well those and the mechatendrils… Anyhow, these were clearly teased earlier:
I was hoping to see more than just one character here, but I’ll take it! The Warsmith looks pretty cool. I’m glad to see the Iron Warriors getting some attention. Speaking of which, it’s not just the new character either. There’s some upgrades to look at also.
Iron Warrior Upgrades
While I was personally hoping we’d get a Kill Team style box, this is a close second. The upgrade kit has shoulder pads to convert your standard Chaos Legionaries into Iron Warriors as well as new heads and arms, too.
GW also mentions Terminators and Chosen as targets for these upgrades. I think that’s a good call. Tossing that Iron Warriors Thunderhammer or Power Fist on to an Aspiring Champ also seems like an easy upgrade “W” to me.

Personally, I’m really glad GW is moving towards these plastic upgrade kits. To me, it makes a lot of sense to snag an upgrade pack or two if you’re looking to update or start a new Iron Warriors army. There’s just something nice about having the 3D emblems vs the transfers.
While we know what these teasers are now there’s still a couple more that need to be confirmed. So this batch of Iron Warriors teasers isn’t quite over yet…
The Siege is coming. Are you prepared for the Iron Warriors?
