A new splatbook for Cyberpunk RED gathers together a ton of new supplements, including Roller Derby rules and a catalogue of guns.
If you play Cyberpunk RED there are probably two things that will catch your eye. And it kind of all depends on where on the cyberpunk spectrum you fall. You’ll either be super hyped to know that in Interface RED: Vol. 5, there’s an updated Solo of Fortune, which is all about the guns, gear, and, of course, power armor that features in the background of Night City and associated areas. Or, you’ll be happy to know that the game is now getting full Roller Derby rules. Complete with cybernetic enhancements.
If you’re really lucky, you’re excited about both. You can find these and more in Interface RED: Vol. 5 for Cyberpunk RED. Let’s check it out.
Interface RED: Vol. 5 – Available Now
Interface RED: Vol. 5 is yet another expansion anthology for R. Talsorian’s Cyberpunk RED, the heir to Cyberpunk 2020, all of which inspired and lead up to Cyberpunk 2077. You can even use a rules kit to make Cyberpunk RED take place in 2077. But no matter where or when you play, you always need more.
Luckily Interface RED gathers together a collection of expansions. You get a number of wildly different options. Everything from a new damage system that expands item damage to allow for different durabilities and malfunctions (and maintenance to prevent them), to rules for adding Investigations to your game, so you can find clues and solve murders and other dangerous dark deals.
Of course, as mentioned there’s the updated Solo of Fortune: 2045, which is a classic Cyberpunk rules expansion. It’s basically a catalogue of guns and gear aimed at the mercenary. And so is this one, though it also has rules for new weapon mods, power armor, and what really excites me: rules for running Mercenary Level Campaigns to Cyberpunk RED.
The other thing that really makes me want to return to Night City is in the Chasing the Rabbit expansion bundled into this. This is the cyberpunk roller derby expansion, which invites you to learn the history of the sport, as well as giving you full rules so you can bring it into your game. Tell me that a team of Roller Derby Edgerunners isn’t just absolutely perfect for Night City.
