‘Roll for Initiative Superdrop’ Follows Up Lackluster ‘Secret Lair x Fallout’ Sets
Wizards of the Coast announced Secret Lair: Roll for Initiative Superdrop, for Magic: The Gathering, which will be available for DTC preorder on February 9, 2026 at 9 am PT.
WotC is headed back for a another dip into the Magic: The Gathering X Dungeons & Dragons crossover pond after the recent Fallout drop sets (see “‘Magic: The Gathering’ ‘Secret Lair x Fallout’“) failed to sell out on DTC preorder (these sets are all still available on the Secret Lair website as of the publication of this article). The new Secret Lair X Dungeons & Dragons drop sets feature some old favorites with new art mixed in with reprints of cards from the first two D&D booster sets (see “Product Line Deets“). These sets contain cards like Displacer Kitten, Gale, Waterdeep Prodigy, Ancient Bronze Dragon, and Black Market.
The following drop sets will be available via this Superdrop:
- Secret Lair X Dungeons & Dragons: Shadowheart’s Devotion (MSRP $29.99; Foil $39.99): The first drop set is themed after Shadowheart, Dark Justicar. It comes with a Shadowheart, Dark Justiciar, a Beseech the Queen, a Black Market, a Victimize, and an Ancient Bronze Dragon.
- Secret Lair X Dungeons & Dragons: Gale’s Ambition (MSRP $29.99; Foil $39.99): The second drop set is themed after Gale, Waterdeep Prodigy. It contains with a Gale, Waterdeep Prodigy, an Arcane Denial, an Archmage’s Charm, a Brainstorm, and a Personal Tutor.
- Secret Lair X Dungeons & Dragons: Black Lights & Dark Dungeons (MSRP $29.99; Foil $39.99): This stylized art drop comes with a Seasoned Dungeoneer, a Displacer Kitten, a Tortured Existence, and a Sefris of the Hidden Ways.
- Secret Lair X Dungeons & Dragons: Shadows Over Balduer’s Gate (MSRP $29.99; Foil $39.99): This is another stylized art drop that contains a Grim Hireling, a Wild-Magic Sorcerer, a Xorn, and a Prosper, Tome-Bound.
- Secret Lair X Dungeons & Dragons: Whispers in Candlekeep (MSRP $29.99; Foil $39.99): The set comes with a Counterspell, a Dragonborn Champion, a Klauth, Unrivaled Ancient, and a Miirym, Sentinel Wyrm.
- Secret Lair X Dungeons & Dragons: Strahd’s Descent (MSRP $29.99; Foil $39.99): It is a Curse of Strahd-themed set that contains a Strefan, Maurer Progenitor as “The Devil Strahd”; a Bloodletter of Aclazotz as “Cast-Off Consort”; an End the Festivities and a Voldaren Estate as “Castle Ravenloft.”
- Secret Lair X Dungeons & Dragons: Lands of the Forgotten Realms (MSRP $29.99; Foil $39.99): The drop wraps up with a set of two of each basic land that features Forgotten Realms locations.
