We’re entering the final week of the Night Hunters Kickstarter, and more than 1,600 backers have already joined the hunt. Your support has helped unlock six stretch goals, including Dastardly Foes Parts 1 and 2—monster-focused expansion PDFs exploring aberrations and wilderness dangers. Each entry delivers rich lore, plot hooks, new lineages, subclasses, backgrounds, talents, magic items, spells, and specialized mechanics for running these terrifying foes at your table.
But this week isn’t just about fear—it’s also about Valentine’s Day <3 and let’s be honest: sometimes the most compelling characters to fall for are the dangerous ones.
Bad Boys and Girls
From tragic monsters to seductive masterminds, Night Hunters dread villains are built to be more than simple enemies. They can be rivals, uneasy allies, dark patrons . . . or perhaps the unforgettable romance your campaign never saw coming. Whether your players want to defeat the villain or fall hopelessly in love with them, their stories are ready to unfold.
More Dread (and Maybe a Little Desire)
For this week’s Scouting Party, Kendo sits down with designers Sarah Madsen, Kelly Pollack, and JB Little to take a dive into three unforgettable Night Hunters villains you might want to fight—or romance—this amorous season:
- Werewolf — Tier 2
- Vampire — Tier 3
- Fallen Angel — Tier 4
Tune in Friday, February 6, 2026, at 12 PM PT on YouTube to watch the Scouting Party live and discover how these dread villains could become the most dangerous (and dramatic) relationships in your campaign.
Night Hunters Live Playtest on YouTube
Get more Night Hunters action with out staff-run playtest show, Kobolds at the Table. In our debut episode, GM Celeste Conowitch leads the team through an eerie new adventure from Night Terrors using new lineages, subclasses, and chilling mechanics from Night Hunters.
Player and Marketing Director Dot Steverson shared her experience playing an Eternal Ember Witch:
“I had the opportunity to try out a new Witch subclass for our playtest of Night Hunters, and let me tell you . . . it was fire! I already loved the Witch class from Player’s Guide 2, but adding the horror flavor of a gravewrought lineage with the Eternal Ember witch subclass created a unique play experience. It was incredibly satisfying to explore how a character surrounded and shaped by darkness could still bring light—or flame—to any situation. It perfectly captures the idea of fighting against the dark or falling to it.”
