Gamemasters, worldbuilders, and writers have a lot to look forward to with this year’s Worldbuilding Con.

If you’re a GM, you might know World Anvil. It’s one of the more robust toolsets out there for keeping track of your campaign, your world, even your novel. Originally started back in 2017, World Anvil has seen hundreds of thousands of worlds and cultures blossom under its digital domain.

I mostly know it from one of the most in-depth worlds I’ve ever played under. Sadly, I didn’t get to stick with the campaign – it started in early 2020, and for some reason or another, we couldn’t really keep playing. Probably best not to think about it. The point is, World Anvil is an incredibly robust suite of tools, but it’s also the host of a convention all about worldbuilding.

World Anvil’s 4th Annual Worldbuilding Con

The aptly named Worldbuilding Con is a convention dedicated to worldbuilding and the sickos who can’t help but make places for their weird little guys to live in. If you’ve ever struggled to figure out if your world has plate tectonics, or if the right kind of reeds for thatched roofs grow in the village biome, or tried to figure out, hey what’s up with the sun – then Worldbuilding Con is for you.

Because it’s got panels with your fellow weirdos. You’ll find all sorts of resources, talks, tips, tools, and tricks. And best of all, it’s a free online event.

This year, it’s actually two:

World Anvil, the award-winning worldbuilding platform and RPG campaign manager, is proud to announce our 4th annual Worldbuilding Con, a free online event and educational resource for tabletop RPGs, with industry-expert guests like best-selling author and RPG legend Tracy Hickman (Dragonlance, Ravenloft), award-winning cartographer and designer Andy Law (Warhammer 40K, Critical Role), and Cody Pondsmith of R.Talsorian Games (Cyberpunk Red, The Witcher RPG).

Previous years have focused on worldbuilding across all media with guests like award winning author Mary-Robinette Kowal and R.A. Salvatore. This year we’re splitting the Con into two editions, to better focus on practical skill-building: Gamemasters Edition, March 14-15 and Writers edition in September (dates TBD).

See you at Worldbuilding Con!
