Roll20 jut released an updated version of its platform allowing players to more easily use Roll20 to make D&D characters on their phones.

Roll20 dropped a whole host of new updates this past Friday. Chief among them is the ability to make your D&D characters on your phone and to run your Roll20 sheet from your mobile device. It’s actually a huge update for people who either use Roll20 in person (everyone’s got their favorite digital sheets) and for those who play with the map open ad don’t want the hassle of having to mess with the character sheet layer in the Roll20 tabletop. Plus many other sweet customization options in the works. Let’s check it out..

Roll20’s D&D On Phones – The Power Of D&D In The Palm Of Your Hands

The updates were announced in a new video released on Roll20’s YouTube page. You can find it linked below. But the main point here is that the D&D character sheet/builder for Roll20 now works on your phone. You don’t have to download an app, all you need is a Roll20 account, and the newest D&D character builder.

But even if you don’t use a phone for your Roll20 games, the character sheet improvement should benefit you. Now you can shrink down the sheet to take up less space, so you can still see the VTT while you play.

“The complete D&D sheet and builder experience is now available on your phone! Build characters on the go, manage your sheet during sessions, and connect directly to any VTT game… your rolls and actions appear right in the chat. Head to Roll20 Characters on your phone to try it right now!

VTT-only players benefit too, the sheet now scales down to incredibly small sizes in the VTT, giving you more map space. This is only the beginning. We’re taking all of your feedback to continue improving the experience for you. Let us know what you think wherever you follow us, or leave feedback directly in our forum thread.”

There are a few other updates as well. For instance, you can now translate your 2014 macros to run in 2024 games. There’s a little more customization as well. If you homebrew at all, you can now do custom resources for abilities – meaning you can give power points or limited uses of abilities or whatever right in the sheet.

All this, plus a look at what’s coming next is available at the Roll20 Blog.
