France-based ttrpg publisher Arkhane Asylum announced an upcoming RPG based on Tom Clancy’s The Division, launching on Kickstarter soon.
Hey do you have fond memories of The Division? You’re in good company, it seems. Both The Division and its sequel found a community of very dedicated fans. To the point where, if you mention The Division around any crowd of gamers, you’re sure to get one person looking off dreamily into the middle distance as they reminisce about this game that was extremely fun in spite of itself.
Now, the promise of The Division lives again, thanks to a new tabletop RPG in the works from publisher Arkhane Asylum and Ubisoft. Here’s what we know.
Tom Clancy’s The Division Coming To A Tabletop Near You
You might not have heard of Arkhane Asylum – understandable, since they’re a France-based company, and do a fair amount of translating/localization as well as publish their own titles. And with The Division RPG, the company makes its first international debut.
If you’re not familiar with The Division as a game series, it was a, shall we say, “well-timed release” of a video game. The Division initially came out in 2016 followed by its sequel in 2019, both games depicted a world struck by a deadly pandemic. You play as members of the titular Division who are all sleeper agents that have been activated to help safeguard and rebuild the world.
Yeah that hit a little differently after 2019. But it was popular enough that there’s a sequel in the works – and now a tabletop RPG, which promises the same “distinctive tension” as the video game:
“Arkhane Asylum Publishing is proud to announce its collaboration with Ubisoft, publisher of Tom Clancy’s The Division, developed by Massive Entertainment, a Ubisoft studio.
This project will bring the franchise’s distinctive tension, tactical intensity, and iconic world-building to the tabletop, offering fans a new way to experience The Division through immersive storytelling and player-driven missions.”

Now there is precious little information about the RPG for now. All we know is that it’s being made and that there’s a Kickstarter coming April 28th, which is in just over a month. Soon there will be a free quickstart, which should give some insight into how the game itself is played.
And come launch day we’ll get a glimpse of what they have planned. But for now, it might be time to go fire up The Division 2.
