The Adeptus Mechanicus have some new reinforcements and there’s a new Imperial Knight coming to Warhammer 40,000!

Move over Belisarius Cawl! There’s a new Adeptus Mechanicus character taking charge. And she’s bringing some more followers with big guns to boot! On top of that the new Imperial Knight Destrier is here to help out. It’s just what the Imperium needed to take on those pesky Iron Warriors, right? Let’s hope for their sake it’s enough to stop the chaos tide. Now, let’s

Adeptus Mechanicus

Thulia Ghuld

Like many of the Adeptus Mechanicus characters that have been introduced there’s a LOT going on with Thulia Ghuld. From all the extra appendages and servos to the skittery-legs and long robes she’s a true Ad Mech leader. The miniature is dripping with details. Personally, I’ve always found the Ad Mech’s brand of Grimdark impressive but also really intimidating to paint up. That’s not a bad thing if you’re bold enough to give them a shot. This is a great addition to the Ad Mech range.

Hastarii

Representing a new branch of the Machine Cult the Hastarii are here to bring the BOOM. They do come in two different flavors: Exterminators and Fusiliers. Both are elite units able to lay down firepower designed to take out their particular specialty. Goatboy built these miniatures and opted for the anti-infantry versions with Hastarii Exterminators. I do like the look of the Eradication Casters. They remind me of heavy bolters…but energy versions of those weapons. It’s a neat nod to the retro-futuristic style of the Ad Mech. It’s Buck Rodgers of the Grimdark Century.

Imperial Knight Destrier

And finally we have the new Knight Destrier! Again, this miniature fits in between the size of an Armiger and a Knight Questoris. What I like about this new Knight is that it looks nimble but still manages to pack in some bulk. That’s fitting because it’s faster than a Knight Questoris and hits harder than an Armiger. It really does take a lot of design cues from both and I like that. I’ve always been a fan of the little details on the Imperial Knight kits and once again, Games Workshop has knocked this one out of the park. If you’re going to get one of these get ready to paint those rivet!

All of these units are coming to pre-order this weekend from Games Workshop.
