Games Workshop is showing off the new Space Marine Chaplain with Jump Pack coming in the new launch box for Warhammer 40,000 11th edition!

The Space Marines are getting a new Chaplain with Jump Pack miniature in the launch box for 11th. Will he deliver righteous fury to the enemies of the Emperor?

This new miniature features some classic Chaplain wargear – the imposing skull helm, which marks this Space Marine out as a personification of death; the rosarius, which protects his physical form as his faith armours the soul; and the crozius arcanum, both a symbol of office and a brutally powerful weapon.

There’s really not much to say here with the reveal. We saw this character in the trailer for the new edition. And he’s looking about as good as you’d expect a new Space Marine Chaplain with a Jump Pack to look. He’s painted up in Blood Angels colors but the miniature itself has no chapter specific details. Still, he’s pretty blinged out in terms of details.

Once again, GW stayed away from a flight stand for this jump pack unit and opted for a tactical rock + smoke trail. I’m mostly fine with this choice as it give it some elevation. I do find it a little odd that the smoke trail appears to be from a grenade or something else smoking on the base. That cloud isn’t coming from his foot.

I do like this sculpt overall. At the same time this one is pretty safe and expected. He’s more characterful that an Assault Intercessor with a Jump Pack at least! I would probably run him with the other Jump Pack units in the launch box or the aforementioned Assault Intercessors with Jump Packs. He could make for a good “hammer” unit. I wonder if you will be able to stick him with a Sanguinary Guard unit in the new edition… Probably not. But I guess we can wait to find out.

Plenty of Skulls. A rosarius and the Crozius Arcanum. Yep…that’s a Space Marine Chaplain alright!
