The Adepta Sororitas are getting an Armageddon Battalion and it’s looking like it could be a good deal. But let’s find out for sure!
With the war on Armageddon about to explode it seems like everyone is getting in on the action. The Adepta Sororitas are also getting a new Battalion box and even GW said it’s going to be a great way to get these units at a discount.
This is a great way to start a new Adepta Sororitas army, or to easily add to an existing collection, and, as with all of the Armageddon Battalions, you’ll save money compared to buying the kits individually.
While we don’t have an exact price yet, I’ve listed out a range below. If this set comes in around the same price a the Combat Patrol I think you’re in for a really good deal on starting this army.
Adepta Sororitas Armageddon Battalion Pricing Breakdown
Contents
9x Repentia with Repentia Superior $60
Total Individual MSRP: $245
Total Estimated Savings:
- At $150 = $95
- At $170 = $75
- At $190 = $55
As you can see from above if this Battalion comes in under $190 you’re getting a big chunk of savings. I think if drops to $170 (which is the same as the Combat Patrol) then you’re in for a fantastic two-box deal to start a Sisters of Battle army. Whatever the price ends up being on the shelves, you’re still in for roughly $245 worth of units in a box. So you can keep that in mind and do the math when you see it!
Point-wise this box will net you 520 points before any Detachment Enhancements. So it’s basically a quarter of a 2000 point army right there. I’d also say that while this is a decent chunk, there’s still lots of room to shift gears or change things up in a 2000 point list.
Next Steps For the Adepta Sororitas?
Obviously get a codex if you don’t have one. You’re going to need that if you’re starting from scratch. I’d also take a good look at the Combat Patrol box as well. That’s loaded with more infantry that you’ll likely find a good use for as well. However, you’ve got a few choices to make in terms of where exactly you take your army in terms of theme. This Battalion is kind of leaning towards a mix of infantry and warsuits. So let’s just follow that line of thought.
The new Intranzia Fraye is also out this weekend, too. If you’re in the market for the pseudo-mech thing, she’d be another good addition. As would more Paragon Warsuits. Three more Warsuits would be a nice way to bolster your unit by adding in a second unit!
I will also point out if you’re going to go with Paragon Warsuits, there’s the other obvious leader choice with Morvenn Vahl. But then you’re really opting to just load on on Warsuits at that point (but that’s not a bad thing).
If the pseudo-mech suits aren’t your thing and you prefer boots on the ground and tanks for fire support, you can certainly go that route, too. Triple Exorcists are still a thing!
Depending on how heavy you go with the Infantry you’re probably going to want to get a Sister’s Rhino or two to taxi them around. Which also plays into that mechanized-style army. Anyhow, there’s still loads of OTHER infantry to consider. There’s the heavy fire support squads like Retributors to consider. Or if you want to add in some speed there’s also jump squads like the Zephyrim and Seraphim options.
Honestly, at the end of the day you’re just going to have to point out an army to figure out what you want to buy though. If it’s not obvious from above, the Adepta Sororitas can be built in many different ways. Even though there’s a new edition on the horizon, you can still snag their codex and figure out what interests you personally.
The Sisters are getting read for a fight. Are you ready?
