The Mists Rise at D&D in a Castle: Four New Ravenloft Campaigns Launch This Summer

In celebration of the Season of Horror for Dungeons & Dragons, D&D in a Castle will host four exclusive Ravenloft campaigns during its Summer events.

Set in an atmospheric castle venue and guided by world-class Dungeon Masters, these campaigns will draw directly from the upcoming sourcebook Ravenloft: The Horrors Within, giving players a rare chance to experience new Ravenloft lore, monsters, and mysteries before the wider community. For 4 days, players can play new subclasses, use Dark Gifts, and play unique species in the setting of Ravenloft in a perfect castle setting.

For fans of gothic horror and high-stakes storytelling, this is a rare invitation to walk the mist-shrouded roads of the Domains of Dread. Read on to learn how you can participate!

A Weekend in the Mists

D&D in a Castle is known for its world-class, immersive D&D experiences that combine expert Dungeon Masters, passionate players, and unforgettable campaigns. During this special event, the creeping Mists of Ravenloft will roll into the castle grounds, transforming the weekend into a celebration of dread, suspense, and heroic defiance against the encroaching darkness.

Choose Your Fate

Players will choose between four premiere campaigns, each offering a distinct style of horror and a unique journey through the dark corners of the Ravenloft setting.

Whether players prefer unraveling unsettling mysteries or confronting legendary villains head-on, there is a place for them in the Mists.

Horror in Ohio

Players can choose between two campaigns at the Mohican Castle in Loudonville, Ohio taking place July 5-9, 2026.

The first campaign is led by Makenzie De Armas, senior designer for Dungeons & Dragons at Wizards of the Coast and a contributing author to Ravenloft: The Horrors Within. This adventure plunges characters into a fog-choked coastal settlement where something sinister stirs beneath the crashing waves.

If you prefer your horror epic and high-level, the second campaign offers a different kind of nightmare. Guided by B. Dave Walters, creator of The Dark Dice Society and a longtime DM within the Ravenloft setting, this high-level adventure throws experienced heroes directly into the path of some of Ravenloft’s most infamous rulers.

Fear Reigns in the UK

Across the Atlantic, D&D in a Castle is also featuring two campaigns at Walworth Castle in Darlington, UK this Summer.

The first campaign is led by Dicecream Sandwich, a prominent content creator and vibrant storyteller. This campaign brings a light twist to the eternal shadows. Players have the choice of joining Kevin’s campaign for either Summer UK event (August 11-15 or August 16-20).

Or players can join Liv Kennedy, one third of the 3 Black Halflings podcast and a lover of chaos, alongside her quest to explore the dark realms of Ravenloft. This campaign will be held during the second Summer UK round, August 16-20.
