The Greater Than Games brand and Sentinels Comics IP have returned to its original owners, Paul Bender and Christopher Badell.
Bender and Badell announced the reacquisition on May 12, 2026. The Greater Than Games brand had been in limbo for much of 2025 into 2026. Flat River Group suspended work on all Greater Than Games products and reduced their staff in April of 2025 after being impacted by tariffs (see “Victim of Tariffs“). A year later, Handelabra Games acquired the Greater Then Games brand and Sentinel Comics IP from Flat River Group. Handelabra explicitly stated that they were “not interested in becoming a tabletop publisher” and were purchasing the IPs to protect the digital IP rights (see “Handelabra Games Acquires Greater Than Games“). They also indicated that they wanted at third party publisher to handle the tabletop versions of Sentinel Comics’ games.
The third party publisher they had in mind was apparently a new and improved version of Greater Than Games under led by two of its founders. Paul Bender and Christopher Badell have reacquired the Greater Than Games brand and the Sentinel Comics IP from Handelabra, and are planning to reprints of Sentinels of the Multiverse Definitive Edition products (coming to crowdfunding in 2027) and will begin the process of creating a new expansion.
The duo also has two new party games planned: Digital Detox and Crime Scene Tamperer. Digital Detox is a true analog party game where players work to clear out their feeds and reduce their screen time. Crime Scene Tamperer is a game where players try to prevent a crime from being pinned on them by disposing of evidence.
