Wizards of the Coast revealed cards from Cats Are the Best Superdrop, a new wave of Secret Lair sets for Magic: The Gathering, which will hit DTC preorder on June 15, 2026.
At MagicCon Las Vegas, WotC had a very curious Cat’s Lair booth on the floor that featured a chance for fans to interact some lovable kittens (and tease a cat-themed Secret Lair). Well, the info on these cat-themed drop sets is officially out of the bag, and to quote the famous fat cat Garfield (which is apparently the IP that is attached to these drop sets): “Be still my beating heart.”
There will be three Secret Lair X Garfield drop sets that feature characters like John, Odie, Arlene and of course, Garfield. They are as follows:
- Secret Lair X Garfield: Motivationally Challenged (MSRP $29.99; Foil $39.99): The first Garfield drop set comes with a Rin and Seri, Inseparable as “Garfield and Odie, Best Buds”; an Orim’s Chant as “Talk to the Paw”; a Ponder as “Hang in There”; a Beast Within as “I Hate Mondays” and a Sol Ring.
- Secret Lair X Garfield: As Intended (MSRP $29.99; Foil $39.99): The second drop set contains several useful instants and sorceries: a Swords to Plowshares, a Counterspell, a Dark Ritual, an Earthquake, and a Fog.
- Secret Lair X Garfield: Our Only Thought is to Entertain You (MSRP $29.99; Foil $39.99): The third set is a stylized set that comes with an It That Betrays, a Maddening Cacophony, a Maddening Hex, a Hunter’s Insight, and a Molten Collapse.
