Larian studios, makers of Baldur’s Gate 3 have a Very Larian advent calendar, complete with a Minthara story and a teaser of things to come.
It is the season of advent, and not the XCOM 2 kind. Baldur’s Gate 3 developers Larian Studios have a very Larian Christmas, with an advent calendar that kicked off Friday evening. You can solve literal puzzles and unlock special rewards from your favorite Larian games, as long as those games are Baldur’s Gate 3 and Divinity Original Sin 2.
At least so far. The game’s only just begun. But it does include the briefest teaser that Larian is working on something new (no really it is brief, just an acknowledgement of its existence). And it will make your heart grow three-sizes to see all the Larian teams cheering you on.
Larian’s Advent Calendar Brings Baldur’s Gate 3 Merriment and Original Sin 2 Festivity
You can find the advent calendar at the end of the article. As you might expect, each day brings a new puzzle. Each puzzle is a scene from one of Larian’s games. So far you can find glimpses of the Shadow Cursed Lands as well as a scene of Divinity 2’s The Red Prince (my favorite origin character from that game) and beyond.
It’s running now through December 24th, as is tradition. And each day’s puzzle yields a fun reward. In the holiday spirit, here’s a look at the first day’s prize: a holiday wish from Larian’s many offices around the globe:
Of course, there’s more to be unearthed. My personal favorite is a little story about Minthara, who, if you know anything about her, you’d know she’s a tight-fisted hand at the grindstone. Someone who’s just as likely to throw you to the spiders as she is to shattery our bones with her brands. All in the service of her vow. And potentially the Absolute.
Well it seems as though someone’s in for a haunting, and some ghostly visits. But will Minthara learn the true meaning of yuletide cheer? Or will she murder the spirits that come calling as the story unfolds? You’ll have to play to find out what happens.
Happy advent-uring!
