Games Workshop has been teasing these miniatures and rules for a while now. They sent us a review copy and we got to dive in and build these new miniatures. Get ready for a bunch of pictures.

Saturnine Terminator Praetor

The new Terminator Praetor is probably one of my favorite miniatures in the box. I honestly can’t decide if it’s this one or the Dreadnought. Anyhow, it’s an impressive sculpt and it is just as bulky as you’d expect it to be. I mean, this is a massive suit of the new Saturnine Terminator Armour with a Praetor in it on top of a tactical rock! He’s going to be imposing.

If you’re a fan of the MkII Crusade Power Armour then you’re in luck. This box is packed with it and there’s a Praetor wearing it as well. While not quite as bulky as the Saturnine Terminator version, this Praetor still takes up space on the tabletop. That cape does help to fill out the miniature’s silhouette and makes him an imposing figure, too. I also like the more subtle pose of this one. It’s a great mini.

Saturnine Terminators

You get six of these new Terminators in the box and they are CHONKY. I didn’t realize just how much detail was placed on these Terminators. With all the tubes, power coils, and piping, it’s a lot. I honestly can’t decide if it’s maybe too much or not. I think that the hobby side of things is going to eat these up and do some really cool work with them. It’s also nice that there’s so much detail on the back of the miniature. I mean, if you’re playing them that’s what you’re going to be seeing most of the time, right? They might as well be visually interesting for YOU, amirite?

Saturnine Dreadnought

For as much details GW crammed on the Terminators, the Saturnine Dreadnought might have them beat. That said, this model is so big that even though there’s a boat-load of detailing it’s not as overwhelming-looking. There’s enough space on this miniature that is kind of works. There’s also a lot of flat surfaces. Perfect for free-hand or decals. I think I’ve decided that this miniature is indeed my favorite of the box.

Legionaries in MkII Crusade-pattern Power Armour

In the box there are 40 Legionaries in the MkII Crusade-pattern Power Armour. There’s a ton of weapon options to work with as well including two full sets of Disintegrator weapons. Again, if you’re a fan of this style of Power Armour then you’re set with this box. Personally, it’s not my favorite Mk — but I don’t dislike it. I don’t think I’d make my whole legion out of this set but you do you. There’s still a ton of details thanks to this style so have fun with all that banded plating.

Araknae Quad-Accelerator Platform

These pictures don’t do the scale of this miniature justice. The Quad-Accelerator Platform is actually very large — you can see it in the picture below. Anyhow, I think this kit might be the unsung hero of the box. I like the rules for it but more importantly I like the look of it. I want to add a couple of these to my legion for sure.

The new Saturnine Boxed Set is coming to pre-order this weekend! It’s a new era for the Horus Heresy.
