Assassin’s Creed is getting a new board game from Mantic Games. It’s coming to Kickstarter in August 2025. Will you be the hunter or the prey.

Mantic is bringing the Assassin’s Creed franchise to the tabletop with a brand new board game. We covered when it was first announced. While we don’t know much, we do know it’s going to bring characters in from across various historical points in the gaming franchise for some stealth and combat. We’ve got a look at the new trailer today.

Assassin’s Creed Animus – The Board Game

While we don’t have a TON of details about the game’s mechanics. However the video provided us with a look at the game and a few of the Assassin’s player board.

Each Assassin will take on the role of a different character from the franchise and will be playing in their “own time” — so no crazy time crossovers here. From the looks of things, players are going to have to deal with their own set of unique missions. They will also have access to their own versions of equipment and weapons, too.

I’m very curious to see how this one works. I’m getting a bit of Disney’s Villainous vibes. That’s not a bad thing! There also appears to be some sort of combined board or at least a shared space, too.

It’s looking pretty neat so far. I played quite a few of the earlier Assassin’s Creed games so I’m at least familiar with the setting. Incorporating the game’s Animus technology like this to have players competing through time is a smart way to do that.

The game is designed for 2-4 players and will be launching in August 2025 — that’s this month. You can follow the Kickstarter to be notified when it does launch. I know I’m going to be keep an eye on this one for sure.
