Games Workshop is showcasing two brand new miniatures to celebrate Warhammer Day. We’ve got a pair of instant classics!

Okay, I’m a sucker for a classic-looking Chaos Warrior. And what Space Marine Player out there wouldn’t like another Space Marine Captain With a Jump Pack to throw on the tabletop? Well this year for Warhammer Day, GW has us covered.

“The acrid smoke of dark duardin industry clouds the skies, while Skaven swarm from holes in reality. Chaos is truly in the ascendant across the Mortal Realms. Thankfully, the wheel continues to turn in the real world, which means Warhammer Day is just around the corner – in late October.”

Warhammer Day Chaos Champion – Urkhan the Dark Warden

As I mentioned, I can appreciate a good classic Chaos Warrior Champion. I’ve always been a fan of these armored giants marching to war. I think there’s an intimidation factor with them and their imposing silhouettes. I do prefer them without the horns on their helms and GW also has a head swap option, too:

I’d probably still opt for the helmet option because the lack of eyes makes this mini a bit more daunting. You can’t really read his face but body language is a bit more “confident aggression.” The enemy doesn’t scare him…he scares them. That’s Urkhan the Dark Warden, Exaulterd Hero of Chaos for ya!

It’s also worth noting that this is part of the Commemorative Series of miniatures and will be available on Warhammer Day and only while stocks last.

Space Marine Captain For Warhammer Day

Switching Gears, we’ve got a Space Marine Captain with a Jump Pack for 40k on Warhammer Day. This one comes with a few options for loads-outs, too. There’s not just a head swap but also a change of melee weapon. You can opt for a chainsword instead.

Now it’s also worth mentioning that unlike Urkhan this one won’t be limited to just Warhammer Day. You’ll be able to pre-order him before hand and he’ll be available on Warhammer Day. After that, he’s going to be joining the standard Space Marine range. I think we’re about to see some more Space Marines in October…
