You don’t have to be Dan Reynolds, Wayne Sermon, or Ben McKee to imagine dragons, as Pathfinder’s Draconic Codex will show.
All jokes aside, Pathfinder’s new Draconic Codex looks pretty cool. It is a book all about the various draconic entities of Golarion. It expands on the dragons from Monster Core and Monster Core 2, dares to envision archdragons (the oldest and most powerful kind), and even adds draconic options for players. If you want more dragons in your games of Pathfinder, this is going to be the book for you.
Pathfinder’s Draconic Codex – Shipping in November
If you have faced down dragons in Pathfinder 2E, you know how deadly they can be. And this book doubles down on that. It is the source for all your dragon needs and wants. Whether you’re a player or a GM.
Players will enjoy the new ancestry and heritage options. Whether it’s new stuff, like the Dragonet ancestry, or just expansions to familiar options, like the Dragonblood and Kobold ancestries. Or if that isn’t enough, you could forge a draconic pact to tie your fate (and get power from) a dragon, a move we haven’t seen since Dragonheart. If you want to be more normal about dragons, though, you could just use some of the new draconic archetypes, like the draconic acolyte archetype, which lets you become more dragon-like as you grow in power.
GMs will have a lot of wonderful toys too. Including nine draconic deities—these are deities worshipped by dragons and regular ol’ mortals alike. Or dig into expanded background and lore for your favorite dragons. Get real deep into the dragon physiology of Pathfinder and see if how try to explain why some dragons have a damaging aura.
“Dragons! The very name invokes power beyond reckoning, fire that can melt mountains and fangs the size of swords. To face a dragon is to face the ultimate challenge of any adventurer’s career. The reward for victory: gold, enough to twist any mortal’s heart into a bigger monster than the one they just slew. Inside this 224-page tome lies the secrets of dragonkind, as well as those mortals who look upon them with awe or with bitter envy. Research a fearsome foe or summon the courage to make an ally of these primordial beings and put your strength and wisdom to the test. Success will see triumph beyond measure, while failure leads to an ignominious end within the dragon’s maw!”

Of course, the biggest draw is probably the new dragons featured in the book. There are stats for more than 20 types of dragons. And if you’ve looked at the dragons in the upcoming Monster Core 2, you know they start to get… esoteric.
Or go real hard in the paint with the archdragons. See what happens when Pathfinder 2E designers can get real wild with the upper limits of draconic power.
