Strap in, defenders of Tertium. A new update for Darktide adds a whole bunch of new stuff to its roguelike/wave mode, Mortis Trials.

Darktide just got a new update, and it is a juicy one! In the Bound by Duty update, the game’s roguelike, wave-based mode, Mortis Trials, see a ton of new stuff roll out. Whether you’re looking for a whole new family of buffs. New Memory Echoes to try, and of course, new weapons and enemies, you’ll find it in the free Bound by Duty update for Darktide.

Darktide: Bound by Duty

This is a hefty free update—it has it all, really. And we’ll take a look, starting with the new updates for the Mortis Trials. They get a new arena, the Theater of Rectitude, which will put you in an arena inspired by the Clandestium Gloriana mission. You’ll face a new enemy, the Scab Plasma Gunner, who wields a potent plasma weapon. But don’t worry, there are two new buffs, including Emperor Favored, which ups your crit chance and crit damage; and Goliath, which is all about mobility and immunity to suppression and stagger.

If you were hoping for new toys to play with, don’t worry, Fatshark’s got your back. In the Darktide: Bound By Duty update, you’ll get the new Power Falchion if you’re a Veteran. This is a counterpart to the Power Sword, and plays similar to the Relic Blade. Or try out new marks for the Bolt Pistol and Boltgun, with explosive new effects.

And on top of all that, there’s been a talent rework to the Veteran, Zealot, and Psyker trees, alllowing you more flexibility and “player agency” whatever that means in this case. But even the Ogryn and Arbites get at least a few tweaks.

There’s also a new “time-limited Special Event” which will see your fireteam chasing after detachments from the Moebian 6th that have taken hold of plasma weapons. And you get to fight them in low visibility conditions, like Ventilation Purge, Lights out, or Power Supply Interruption.

And all of this is just scratching the surface. You can find the full set of Patch Notes right here. In the meantime, grab your lasgun, make sure you’ve got plenty of grenades, and get ready to do even more Mortis Trials.

Tertium awaits!
