The Fallout tabletop RPG gets ready to return to the Mojave and New Vegas in a new expansion: Royal Flush. Good luck, kid.
If you ask people what their favorite Fallout game is, you’ll typically get one of two answers, depending on how much of a vault-dweller they are. It’s either: Fallout 2 or Fallout: New Vegas. And the ironic thing is that both were worked on by a lot of the same folks. Originally Fallout 2 was developed by Black Isle Studios. And then when that studio closed, many ex-Black Isle Folks became Obsidian Entertainment—who would then go on to develop Fallout: New Vegas.
All that to say, it’s one of the most universally beloved Fallout games. And soon we’re headed back to both of those games with a new expansion for the Fallout tabletop RPG: Royal Flush, up for pre-order now.
Fallout RPG: Royal Flush – That’s Vegas, Baby
Honestly, you don’t really need to say much more than “Fallout RPG goes to New Vegas” to get most people at least interested. But that kind of thinking leads to danger. Danger and phoned-in expansions. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case here.
Modiphius’ team is looking to capture what makes the most beloved Fallout games so delightful. It’s not just firing up the nostalgia engines. Instead, you get a roadtrip to the Sierras and the Mojave where you can visit both New Reno (Fallout 2) AND New Vegas (Fallout New Vegas, come on people). What a gift.
Royal Flush is a campaign book that takes place in the run-up to the Second Battle of Hoover Dam. With the threat of war (which never changes) looming once more, Characters stumble into an accelerationist plot that wants to plunge the Wasteland into chaos.
“The Mojave isn’t just a desert – it’s a blasted frontier of dust, danger, and stubborn survivors clinging to the bones of the Old World. Out here, every crumbling highway hides secrets, every settlement fights to keepr aiders at bay, and every sunrise promises another struggle to survive until nightfall. Small settlements don’t last long, but the fortified towns and cities have weathered the dust storms and wars in relative safety behind their walls…though what festers inside their gates can be just as deadly. The Great War may be history, but the Mojave has never stopped being a battlefield.”
Yeah, sign me up. Especially since you get three new character origins to play with: Follower of the Apocalypse (finally), Viper Initiate, and Enclave Remnant. Plus you get new desert rules, rules for vehicles and gambling. All the stuff you’d want crammed into this level 1-21 campaign book.
The Wasteland awaits. Maybe this time you’ll beat the House.
Look for Royal Flush later this year!
