Marvel Comics has a pretty deep roster of characters. Here’s a few variant versions we wouldn’t mind seeing show up.

With Ronin coming to the game this month, I was thinking about all the aliases and alternate versions of character that are out there in Marvel. I really hope that one day Atomic Mass Games gets around to bringing a few of these into the game.

Goliath

Hank Pym is best known as Ant-Man. But he also figured out ways to manipulate his Pym Particles to become, well, BIG. Goliath was one of his alter-egos/superhero identities. There’s also been other characters that have taken the mantle of Goliath on. Honestly, I’d be okay with any of those versions, too.

Maestro (Hulk)

Honestly, the Maestro (2020) storyline really did a great job of showing how Hulk went from, well, Hulk to becoming the Maestro version. It’s really worth a read if you can snag it in trade paperback form. Anyhow, this version of the Hulk has becoming a Tyrant and he’s quite a potent baddy! I’d like to see him show up one day — at least on the tabletop.

Age of Apocalypse Weapon-X (Wolverine)

I don’t think I need to introduce this version of Wolverine. But just incase, he’s from the massive Age of Apocalypse crossover event from the 90’s. This is actually a variant cover that’s being redone currently. Anyhow, this one-handed version of Wolverine was better known as Weapon-X in that timeline and he’s pretty nuts. Like, more-so than regular Wolverine. Anyhow, I’ve always had a soft spot for this character design and would love to see it on the tabletop.

Doom 2099

Okay, I had to sneak in a “we want Doctor Doom” in here somewhere. Again, I don’t know what the deal is — this is a character we’ve all been waiting for. But since we got Spider-Man 2099, and since we can’t seem to get Doctor Doom in here, what about Doom 2099? Just tossing that out there!

Marvel Zombies (Any/All of Them)

Is this a cop-out? Eh, whatever. I’d personally love to see AMG bust out the Marvel Zombies for MCP. They are kind of OP and busted…But I think the miniatures could be a ton of fun. If you’ve never read the story, it gets kind of time-loopy and weird. But I think it was meant to be for fun. So try not to take this one too seriously — like a horror movie!

What other alternate versions of characters would you like to see brought to the tabletop?
