The next Hero from Warhammer Quest: Darkwater has been revealed. The Durardin explore Drolf Ironhead is here for adventure!
Last week, GW revealed the hero Edmark Valoran, the Manticore Knight. Today we’re meeting another hero from the upcoming adventure game. This Duardin is ready to delve deep into the Darkwater setting.
“Drolf Ironhead is a rare breed for a duardin, for he thrives in the tangled labyrinth of the Aquian forest, hacking paths through some of the most formidable terrain in the Everspring Swathe.
He hails from a Khazalid clan that once made their home in the Mistral Peaks; allies of the Jade Abbey, they fought in its defence until a plague-flood unleashed by Gelgus Pust inundated their halls and drowned most of them. Drolf was naught but a beardling back then, but he still remembers the oath he swore: to avenge his kin. “
Drolf Ironhead, The Grizzled Explorer
I know that Warhammer Quest isn’t your typical RPG. But, as a setting, if I were going on an adventuring quest, I’d appreciate having a “Grizzled Explorer” in my party. Having someone around that’s “been there, done that” is helpful — especially since they seem to have survived the previous adventure(s). That wisdom, knowledge, and experience can be very reassuring. Hopefully Drolf is willing to share that expertise with the rest of the party.
That said, in game terms, I have no idea what he’s going to bring to the table! He’s got a pair of axes and apparently has a bit of a grudge against this Gelus Pust character. Being a Duardin, I’m not surprised he’d got a grudge. Hopefully Drolf can make his way on his quest without letting the grudge get the better of him.
Warhammer Quest: Darkwater does look intriguing. I’m curious as to what this adventure will unravel this time around. Again, so far we’ve gotten two heroes revealed but I’m still curious about the baddies in this box.
I’m also wondering if there’s more than just the cast of four heroes on the cover for this one, too!
