The award-winning D&D board game, Lords of Waterdeep is coming back in 2026, thanks to an upcoming reprint from Renegade Game Studios.

Exciting news for fans of worker-placement and/or quest driven board games. Renegade Game Sudios is working on a reprint of the award-winning Lords of Waterdeep as well as the Scoundrels of Skullport expansion for the game. This means that soon, you’ll be able to once again don the mask of one of the Lords of Waterdeep and set out to rule the city, for better or worse.

Renegade Game Studios Brings Lords of Waterdeep Back For Another Round

Lords of Waterdeep puts you and your friends in the role of the Masked Lords of Waterdeep. You sit on the council, have meetings, send your forces out to do quests and buy buildings and in general try to do a better job of gaining influence over the city than your peers.

And the Renegade reprint looks like it’ll capture that exactly. You can see the old artwork from 2012 still adorning the cover. But what’s interesting is that Lords of Waterdeep was originally published in-house by WotC. Of course, Renegade and Hasbro have a good pipeline established—Renegade Game Studios handles the GI Joe and Transformers RPGs, for instance.

At any rate, if you enjoyed the classic Lords of Waterdeep game, but your copy has fallen apart—or you missed it the first time around, now’s your chance to get back in on the action:

“Lords of Waterdeep is a game of intrigue, shifting resources, and secretive schemes in the most fantastic metropolis of the Forgotten Realms.

The powerful lords of the city contend for control of Waterdeep, the City of Splendors. Behind the gleaming facade of tall buildings and winding streets, dark intrigues and shady back-alley dealings play out, leaving the city’s treasures and resources ripe for plunder.

In this fast-paced game of constantly changing fortunes, you take on the role of a Lord of Waterdeep. Through your Agents, you recruit Adventurers and send them on Quests designed to win favor and spread your influence throughout the city. Expand your treasury, purchase Buildings, assign Agents—choose your actions wisely and you can become the supreme Lord of Waterdeep!

Alongside the Lords of Waterdeep expansion, we’re also getting the Scoundrels of Skullport reprint. This game adds new Lords, new Buildings, and new Intrigue and Quest cards, as well as a new faction, the Gray Hands, allowing up to six players.

Look for both of these in April 2026!

At last, the Lords of Waterdeep convene once more!
