Halloween seems an appropriate time to settle into the World of Darkness. If you’re somehow unfamiliar with it, this is the game of urban horror, where supernatural creatures like Vampires and Werewolves dwell within the shadows of our modern day society and pursue their own shadowy agendas.
Or, you know, you play as basically va.pire superheroes. It all kind of depends on your group and sensibilities. But, either way, the World of Darkness Humble Bundle is the perfect way to jump into it. Though you don’t have much time—the bundle ends on Friday, right along with October.
World of Darkness Humble Buddle – Ends Friday
This Humble Bundle has everything you need, and then some, to jump into the World of Darkness. You’re probably most familiar with Vampire the Masquerade – it’s the signature line in the World of Darkness, and it casts a large shadow over this bundle as well. You’ll find the 5th Edition core rulebook, as well as several supplements that will help you craft your tale of supernatural intrigue and blood-soaked alleys.
Of particular interest are the In Memoriam and Bloodstained Love splatbooks. The former deals with playing elder vampires, whose lives stretch back centuries—the ancillae who have seized power during the torpor of the truly ancient vampires. While the latter is all about romance and intrigue and how to bring them into your games with a delicate touch.
But it’s not just VtM in the bundle. You get the full run of the World of Darkness:

You can take up arms against the ills assailing the world in Werewolf: the Apocalypse. This casts you as werewolves who must protect the world from evil spirits, corruption, and the ravenous appetites of the Wyrm. You’ll find plenty of sourcebooks to help you on your way, including the Storyteller’s Toolkit and Moonlit Path. Plenty to get you on your way.
Or take up arms against the ultimate predators as a mortal who happened to learn a little too much, or look too long until the shadows with Hunter: the Reckoning.
