Starfinder is about to unleash a horde of new aliens into Pact space with the release of the 2E Alien Core, with more than 200 new creatures!

Starfinder is, at its core, all about encountering alien life forms and deciding whether they are friend-shaped or foe-shaped. Often, this is a decision you get to make more than once (though some lessons are learned harshly, with teeth and acidic digestive sprays). And soon, Starfinder will have even more creatures swarming in every corner of the many worlds of its galaxy. Literally, in this case, because swarms of aliens are one of the more than 200 new entries awaiting you in Alien Core.

And if you’re a fan of Pathfinder, you’ll find a lot to love about this book as well, because another big part of the update is Pathfinder creatures given a Starfinder overhaul. Meaning you’ll find ogres with nanites, or cyberdragons, or the like. Okay, I don’t know if you’ll actually find a cybernetic dragon – but if this book doesn’t give you the tools to at least envision what that’s like, I’ll buy a hat and eat it.

Starfinder: Alien Core – Now There Are Dragons In Space

Alien Core is basically a space Bestiary. And I don’t just say that because there are a bunch of Pathfinder creatures getting Starfinderized in it. Or even because the book is fully compatible with Pathfinder 2E, so you can take alien creatures from this book and drop them into your Pathfinder games. But it’s also your guide to the Pact Worlds galaxy.

You’ll find space dragons and undead space ships and worse things besides lurking within the pages. And you’ll find new, creative ways to die in the depths of space. Which is what any good sci-fi/fantasy game should offer at every turn.

Many of the new aliens fit right in. You get gremlins and their glitches that follow them like clouds. Cyberzombies. Robot assassins. If you can think of a classic sci-fi trope there’s probably some representation of it in this book.

“Inside Starfinder Alien Core, you’ll find over 200 creatures, including science fantasy favorites like robots, spacefaring fey, and all-new dragons; alien beasts from friendly spiderlike empathnids to fearsome plantlike predator ksariks; and unique monsters that threaten the galaxy of Starfinder, like jinsul troopers and vicious Swarm subspecies. You’ll also find legacy Pathfinder creatures with a scifi update, like nanite-infused algollthus, and Starfinder classics like akatas and laser wolves. These creatures cover all levels of play, from scavenging sluglike diathas to powerful Drift-dwelling spectra.

Starfinder Alien Core is the only book GMs need to add enemies and allies of all sorts to their Starfinder Second Edition game, providing enough aliens of all power levels and thematic niches to populate countless worlds. And since Starfinder Second Edition is fully compatible with Pathfinder Second Edition, every alien presented in this massive tome can pull double duty in Pathfinder campaigns with next to no adjustment.”

Of course, one of the big draws here is the sci-fantasy dragons. You’ll find some new examples here: the cosmic dragon, primal host dragon, and more. Everything from space angels to cybertrolls, to creatures that represent some of Starfinder’s most iconic factions like the Aeon Guards of the Azlanti Star Empire.

This book is your key to galaxies of adventure. As long as that means having a lot of cool aliens.
