With the Tides of Torment on the rise, it’s time to check out some of the mechanics of the upcoming Legendary Lords, like Aislinn or Dechala.

Tides of Torment is on the way, after a few delays to fix the campaign AI, among other things. And coming with it? A new trio of Legendary Lords, including the Sea Lord Aislinn and Dechala, the Denied One – a many-armed Champion of Slaanesh who carves her way through any who stands in the way of the Prince of Pleasure’s dark desires.

With new Legendary Lords also comes new mechanics. So as we get ready for the Todes to roll in, let’s look at what they’re bringing with them.

Aislinn, Sea Lord of Ulthuan

First up, Sea Lord Aislinn. Where the other nobles of the High Elf court are haughty and arrogant, Aislin is brutally direct. Which is why maintaining support as he sails further from the shores of Ulthuan is tricky. But still, he must venture out to find the resources needed to build his legendary Dragonships, the only vessels capable of not just repelling but crushing the Druchii invasion.

Dragonships are no mere naval vessels. They are vast war platforms, capable of developing their own infrastructure, mustering and housing many thousands of troops, and transporting them at pace to precisely where they are needed.

Each Dragonship is like a Horde army. Meaning you can develop it, give it “building chains” for them. They give you a powerful mobile base, but unlike the Black Arks of the Dark Elves, these can also go “sea-to-land thanks to the Mist Landing ability which lets them follow Aislinn and redeploy at his pleasure.

An Aislinn Campaign is more mobile than any other Legendary Lord to date. But you’ll have to balance that with the supply lines, especially since each Dragonship takes its own resources to deploy.

Dechala the Denied One

Meanwhile, Dechala the Denied One has her own mission – acquire as many Thralls for Slaanesh as possible. And to this end, she has unique Pleasure Palaces at her disposal.

Dechala’s campaign focuses on subjugating the populations of captured settlements, binding them to her will as Thralls who fuel her war efforts and sustain her growing dominion. Thralls serve as her primary campaign resource and are tracked on the upper-central UI panel. They also power the Proliferating Cults action shared with other Slaaneshi factions. They are the backbone of her economy and you’ll be balancing destruction and seduction.

Decadent. Corruptive. Inescapable. If you are a fan of the ruthless cycle of conquest and excess, where captured settlements are used to fuel the economy and growth, Dechala might just be right for you!

Of course this is just a taste of things to come. More will follow as we get closer to release date. In the meantime, you can learn more on Steam.

See you when the tides roll in!
