Eberron is a world full of magitech wonders, sweeping scenic vistas, and viking elves that will cut you in half. Don’t miss these five spots!
The world of Eberron is one of exploration, discovery, and adventure. It’s also extraordinarily dangerous. But if you’re going to play in an Eberron campaign, that’s half the appeal. Whether you’re running from agents of the Lords of Dust in the bowels of Khyber, dodging magical horrors in the Mournland, or trying not to get knifed in a dark alley on the streets of Sharn, City of Towers, there are plenty of places in Eberron absolutely worth the trip.
Sharn, City of Towers

You can keep your Waterdeeps and Neverwinters and Baldur’s Gates. Sharn puts them all to shame. Not only is it the most populous city in all of Khorvaire, it’s also a city so dense and so looming even its skyline warrants a nickname. You have to climb high before you can even get to it – but you’ll want to, because Sharn is where the rich and powerful mingle with the poor and downtrodden, often literally standing above them because it’s a tiered city where the wealthy are literally on top.
But just incredible views. And opportunities for adventures. From the undercity to the top of the highest plateaus, Sharn keeps its secrets for those who know how to look.
The Floating Towers of Arcanix

Over in the reaches of Aundair are the Floating Towers of Arcanix. These are home to the most prestigious magical university in Khorvaire, as well as home to the Arcane Congress. These floating towers levitate on magical islands that drift high above the village of Arcanix.
Within the many-spired halls of the university, you might find the tower of Skyreach, which is the location of the Five Nation’s greatest store of arcane lore. Or check out the Tower of Alchemy, where potions and golems are created. Over more than eight hundred years, each tower has grown its own sort of “arcane personality” – a unique magical aura built from constant tinkering and experimentation.
Haka’torvhak – The Throne of the Holy Dragons

Haka’torvhak, the Throne of the Holy Dragons as it translates to in Draconic, is the site of a massive battle between the dragons of Eberron and the fiends that had invaded the world during the Age of Demons. Once, the realm was ruled by a reptilian tyrant known as the Cold Sun, however, the dragons and their battles – as well as the actions of the church of the Silver Flame led the tyrant to be cast down.
Now, these volcanic ruins are an important site. Not only does it have breathtaking ruins from more than a million years ago (a time before humanity walked Eberron), it also has important wards that keep the devouring demons at bay to this day!
Stormhome

Why not go somewhere nice for a change? Stormhome is one of the resort destinations of Eberron. No really. The mages of House Lyrandar once set up an enclave in Stormhome, and then, they enchanted the weather to divert storms and transform the barren rock to a tropical paradise.
As an island destination, it is important for a few reasons. For one, it is located along important routes – it has many towers that serve as docking ports for Eberron’s skyships. And for two, it was neutral ground during the Last War. Its status of neutrality meant that it was the perfect place for spies, saboteurs, and diplomats to meet in secret. A tradition that continues to this day.
Korranberg

Korranberg is the oldest city in Zilargo. It is fortified, vast, and home to the Library of Korranberg, which has a reputation as being the greatest library in Eberron. While Arcanix’ towers might have the market cornered on arcane research libraries, Korranberg’s shelves are stocked with the greatest collection of knowledge in the world of Eberron.
Sure, it’s also home to many gnomish intrigues. But it is also a center of political power and one place where anyone can find almost anything on any subject. Even the forbidden ones. Especially the forbidden ones.
Happy adventuring!
