The Inhumans have a new pack for their returning characters. We’re going to dive into the contents inside their new Affiliation Pack!

Just to be clear this isn’t even the first Inhumans Affiliation Pack. Although, technically, the previous pack was for their Royal Court. This new release from Atomic Mass Games is four of the previous miniatures reboxed and packaged together. Thanks to AMG for sending me a review copy to take a look at because I’d been struggling to find these characters out in the wild. Now I have them and I feel like I can finally start to dabble with the Inhumans properly.

Anyhow, let’s get inside this box. And don’t worry because there’s not Terrigen Mist inside this one to convert you into an Inhuman!

Inhumans Affiliation Pack Unboxed

Now, to kick things off like we typically do, here are the contents of the box laid out. Once again as an AMG product you’ve got baggies for the contents. The sprues are in one bag and the cards/tokens are in another. I do appreciate these bags because they keep the cards from getting damaged and they keep any stray bits from the sprue inside incase they break off in shipping. I’ve also got a massive collection of them now. So many plastic bags…

Anyhow, on to the cards!

If you’re looking for better pictures of the cards, AMG has them on their site. It’s part of their Panel-to-Play series where they got over all the abilities of the characters and their team tactic cards, too. It’s worth a read if you’re new to the Inhumans in general. Needless to say, this box has all the cards in the various supported languages as well. You’ll get a full playset to use these characters on the tabletop.

These cards are also new to the Inhumans in this box. They are all updated with art as well as rules. These are the most current versions from AMG so they make for a great place to jump in for new players or veterans looking to start the Inhumans.

With the sprues, you’ve got the same ones from their previous releases. The miniatures didn’t change at all and I don’t think that’s a bad thing. I’m pretty sure you actually end up with a few less bases than before but I’m okay with that. You don’t end up using all these bases anyhow so you’re going to have leftovers regardless.

Now let’s check out these miniatures!

Inhumans Up Close

Again, these aren’t new one but they’ve been… let’s say difficult to get. They were some of the earlier releases and weren’t restocked for a long time. So I’m glad I finally got to build them! They still look great and I’ve got no complaints with their sculpts.

Crystal and Lockjaw here were fun to build. Lockjaw, being a big ol’ puppy was really straightforward to build. Between clipping, cleaning, and dry fitting he’s a breeze to assemble. Crystal was a little more tricky due to her water splash thing. I didn’t know if if actually connected to anything (I don’t think it does post-assembly).

The only really tricky part was figuring out positioning on the base. I recommend getting her assembled first, then gluing the rocks to her legs. That’s going to give you a really solid stand to glue to the base and then positioning the water element around that should be simple.

For Medusa and Black Bolt, it was a similar process. Both are pretty simple but they each had their own little nuances for the build. Medusa is attached to her “hair” at the back and then you actually glue her face/head into position. I recommend building her body and attaching all the limbs first. Then glue her to her hair. Oh and there is the third hair “tendril” that wraps around the front; glue that in last so you can fit her in her hair.

Black Bolt was only tricky because so much of his miniature hangs off the base. I don’t really like when there’s that much overhang so close to the base because it makes it a little harder to play on the tabletop. Shocker has a similar destroyed effect on his model but he’s on a bigger base so it all fits. I kind of wish that AMG did that with Black Bolt, too.

Overall, I’m glad I finally have all the older Inhumans in my collection. I’m now eyeing the War of Kings missions with renewed fervor. I feel like I can finally play those out in a fun narrative manner now. Or maybe I’ll play some Inhumans vs X-Men games. And I know a certain big green giant that would like to have a word with Black Bolt, too…

The new Affiliation Pack for the Inhumans is out now and in stores.
