With one graphic novel based on Matt Dinniman’s Dungeon Crawler Carl due out in March and another on the way for next year (see “Two Different ‘Dungeon Crawler Carl’ Graphic Novels on the Way”), Vault is lining up more LitRPG graphic novels in the months to come.
In addition to the print edition of the webtoon adaptation of Dungeon Crawler Carl, slated for May 19, 2026, Vault has three more first volumes coming up, all compilations of vertical-scroll comics that are running on the WEBTOON platform:
- My Best Friend Is an Eldritch Horror, Vol. 1, by Actus, a story set in a magical school that has 6.1 million views and almost 185,000 subscribers, will be released on April 14 with an MSRP of $19.99.
- The Laws of Cultivation, Vol. 1, by KrazeKode, a xianxia (Chinese fantasy) tale of a young man who is reincarnated into a fantasy world and uses science to increase his powers, with over 5.6 million views and 165,000 subscribers, will be released on June 2.
- The Primal Hunter, Vol. 1, by Zogarth, an isekai story about an office worker who hones his skills to be come an apex hunter in his new world, which has 22.2 million views and over 300,000 subscribers, is slated for August 11.
MSRP is $19.99 for all three. My Best Friend Is an Eldritch Horror is rated 13+ and the other two are rated 14+. All are based on webnovels originally published by Aethon and then adapted into webtoons (see “Webtoon Inks Deal with Ebook Publisher Aethon”). Aethon acquired a majority stake in Vault in June 2025 (see “Vault Sells Majority Stake”).
Steve Beaulieu, president of Aethon Books, explained the appeal of LitRPG at the ICv2 Insider Talks in October 2025 (see “‘Dungeon Crawler Carl’ Writer, Vault and Aethon Execs on LitRPG”). “You actually get to watch the character progress tangibly throughout the series, as opposed to just reading that it happens,” Beaulieu said. “We get to see things like stats, we get to see things like levels up, we get to see the tangible changes in the character. And that ends up being really fun for the reader.”
