The Daughters of Khaine have a new Battleforce Box on the way. Let’s check on this one and find out if it’s a deal or not.

Battleforce Boxes tend to be a fairly large purchase but also come with a decent discount. For Age of Sigmar, they have crept up to the $250 price range. So, with that in mind, we’re going to take a look at the recently announced Daughters of Khaine Battleforce that’s on the way. Morathi is in there as well as some useful units but it is worth the price?

Total MSRP = $357.50

Total Estimated Savings: $107.50

Just based on the savings you can see this is a going to be a nice discount. Again, that’s based on a box price of $250 which should hold steady. If you’re looking to start playing Daughters of Khaine this one might be a little low on the model count but it’s packed with a ton of useful options. I’ve seen the Blood Sisters used as both a melee or ranged option effectively. The Khinerai are great for mid-to-late game objective snatching. And Morathi-Khaine is a major problem that demands attention from the enemy.

So is this one worth it? I think this is a really good start to an DoK army. Where you go from there is really up to you. That said, the new Battletome is on the way so you’ve got a bit of a conundrum there. Do you wait until the Battletome comes out to design your list? If you do wait too long you might miss out on the Battleforce box. Which would suck. And that’s pretty much the GW sales pitch in a nutshell. “Just buy it all and worry about it later.”

I will say that I do think the units are currently good options. I also think that having Morathi-Khaine in your collection isn’t a bad thing at all. It’s a fantastic miniature and she’s tough to deal with on the tabletop for a lot of folks. Will her rules be just as good in the new book? I don’t know but I’d wager they aren’t going to be terrible. She’s also going to be a lot of points regardless. So you’ll at least have a chunk of your army ready.

Next Steps For the Daughters of Khaine?

Well, the range has some good options. I do like more Blood Stalkers/Blood Sisters. A Cauldron of Blood isn’t a bad call either — that’s mostly thanks to all the hero options you can make from it. Oh, and the Cauldron itself is generally a good aura buff to your army. You’ll also likely need some Witch Aelves at some point. A unit or two make for excellent screens.

Honestly, there’s not too many “bad” options to go with here. If you’re planning on running Morathi, you probably don’t need to pick-up Krethusa the Croneseer. I don’t think those two play well together. The Endless Spells are also great if you’re looking to run a couple of casters in your list. Shoot, even having Morathi toss out the Bloodwrack Viper to cause problems is effective!

All that to say, you can currently check out the Battle Profiles and at least put together a rough list of what you like based on points. When the new Battletome comes out, you might have to re-jigger a few things. But I don’t think the points swings will be that crazy to deal with.

The Daughters of Khaine are a deadly army when everything starts to click. They put out a ton of damage and are surprisingly resilient thanks to their Ward Saves. At least they used to be. We’ll see how that pans out when the new Battletome arrives.

If you wanted to start buying, building, and painting before the Battletome then I suggest you stick to the core units. Witches, the Endless Spells, maybe another unit of Khinerai. And then once the book drops and you’ve got the book, go from there.

The Battleforce is over $100 in savings. At least that’s hard to argue with!
