Are you a GM? Take advantage of DriveThruRPG’s GM’s Day Sale and save big on a huge swath of titles across a variety of genres and systems.

Although you know, I bet you could save at the GM’s Day Sale on DriveThruRPG even if you weren’t a GM. That’s just how it goes. I don’t think they’re asking if you’re a GM. I could be wrong. But even if they do ask, being a GM is a thankless enough job on its own that you could say you’re doing it, and most people would believe you.

At any rate! There’s a huge sale on, but it only lasts the next seventeen hours (at press time) or so – it ends in the early hours of tomorrow morning, or as I like to call it, Gremlin Sunset/Bedtime. Let’s take a look.

DriveThruRPG GM’s Day Sale

There are a ton of titles up for sale right now. You can save up to 40% on books like Cyberpunk RED or grab the Fabula Ultima core rulebook for like $10, which is a steal. If I didn’t already own it, I’d be buying it for sure – it’s a TTRPG inspired by JRPGs like Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, and Dragon Quest. What’s not to love?

I think I tend to look at these sales as a chance to try new systems. So that’s what I tend to focus on. Which is how I get drawn to the discount on the ALIEN RPG: Evolved Edition (That’s ALIEN 2E for those playing along at home and/or in space). Or the Cosmere RPG Stormlight Handbook.

But if you’re not that kind of GM, there are plenty of other titles up for grabs. I know that there are plenty of creature compendiums for various systems out there. Including Incredible Creatures for Daggerheart, and the Dolmenwood Monster Book.

If you’re the kind of GM that runs pre-prepared adventures, then you’ll find a ton of stuff there. I don’t, so I am not necessarily the best person to turn to for those kinds of recommendations. But one category I feel gets underrated is the GM asset packs.

These are things like maps and artwork packs that are designed to be used when you play a game. I have a hell of a time making maps – I prefer Theater of the Mind for all my combat for this reason – but if I can find a good map pack, then man is my job/life easier as a GM, if not in other respects.

There are a couple of VTT maps that include a Lovecraft-inspired Arctic Camp and a Necro Prison for Roll20 that I might just have to snag. But that’s me. You should check out the sale for yourself. Luckily, all you have to do is click the link below.

And Happy GM’s Day, like, a week ago (GM’s Day was officially March 4th this year but isn’t it just like a GM to overextend themselves and the sale accompanying them)!
